? | + | Laid down as the name ship of the Aigle-class contre-torpilleurs on the 8th of October 1928, launched on the 19th of February 1931 and commissioned into the Marine Nationale on the 10th of October 1932, the 12th contre-torpilleur to join the Marine Nationale. ''Aigle'' joined her predecessors Vauban and Lion of the preceding Guépard-class in the 1st Division, based in the Mediterranean. She had little service beyond regular training sorties during the 1930’s, and her first real action came in June 1940 when Italy entered the war, and the Marine Nationale sortied en masse against the Regia Marina. However, naval action quickly ceased following the French Armistice on the 22nd of June 1940, where ''Aigle'' and all her sister-ships returned to the Mediterranean, now flying the Vichy French flag. ''Aigle'' remained trapped in Toulon, until the 27th of November 1942 came, and ''Aigle'' was scuttled with the rest of the Vichy Fleet stationed at Toulon to prevent capture by the Germans. She was later refloated by the Italians on the 10th of July 1943, but never restored to operational capacity. She sunk a second time on the 24th o November 1943, when Allied bombers attacked Toulon. She was salvaged shortly after the war a second time, and was subsequently scrapped. | ||

Aigle — French premium Tier VI destroyer.
The lead ship in a series of large destroyers (contre-torpilleurs), a typical type of ship in the French Navy, designed specifically to hunt down enemy destroyers. The ship was large in size and had a high speed. She was on par with contemporary destroyers by the strength of her torpedo armament yet considerably outclassed them in terms of artillery power owing to her five 139mm guns.

Player Opinion
Performance
Pros:
- Great survivability - has the largest health pool out of all Tier VI destroyers
- Decent torpedo armament - highest maximum damage per torpedo of all Tier VI destroyers, decently fast torpedoes, and decent range
- Decent concealment - on par with its Tier VI USN and KMS counterparts
Cons:
Optimal Configuration
Commander Skills
Key skills for Aigle commanders include a core of Priority Target, Last Stand, Survivability Expert, and Concealment Expert. After those core skills have been taken, skills such as Basic Firing Training (increasing the rate of fire), Inertial Fuse for High Explosive shells (increases the penetration of the shells offering more damage per shot on average), Advanced Firing Training (increases the range of the main battery), and Superintendent (extra charge for consumables), will really bring out the strengths of the ship.
