Signals

Icon_4.png

At Account Level 10, captains unlock the ability to fly signals on their ship that grant small bonuses to gameplay. In order to equip signals, click the "Exterior" tab under the BATTLE! button in the top center of the screen, then select "SIGNALS" from the menu at left. This will display a list of available flags with quantities of each. Click on the desired signal, then press the "Mount" button. You can also choose to auto-resupply your signals, so that after each battle, another signal is automatically mounted on your ship. If you do not select this option, your ship will have no signals mounted when you return to port after your next battle.

A maximum of eight (8) signals can be flown simultaneously on battleships, cruisers and destroyers; aircraft carriers are limited to four (4) signals in a match.

Signals can be earned as follows:

  • In-game achievements. Each achievement (except Devastating Strike) grants ten (10) of the corresponding signal, except for First Blood which only gives one (1) Zulu signal. Each achievement can only grant signals once per 24-hour period (same as daily win bonus and containers). For example: the first time each day that a captain earned the "Confederate" achievement, they would be awarded 10 "Zulu Hotel" flags. Additional "Confederate" achievements within the 24 hour window would not award additional flags.
  • Some signals may be purchased from the Premium Shop depending on server.
  • Signals can be acquired through the Signals & Camouflage and Try Your Luck containers, as well as supercontainers.
  • Campaigns, challenges, and combat missions may reward signals.
  • Playing one battle in a Public Test will grant 3 of every non-special signal. Additional Public Test missions may give special signals.

Special signals can only be obtained through containers or events (such as the World of Warships Birthday Event).

Signals may be sold for credits, though this is generally not worthwhile, especially for economic signals.

Flags

Flags differ from Signals in a couple of key ways. For starters, players are limited to displaying one (1) flag on their ship at a time. Additionally, flags do not have a limited number of charges; once awarded, players can equip that flag over and over again without losing it. Flags that have an effect are quite rare; Signals all serve a function of some kind, but Flags are largely cosmetic.

Flags are awarded from a variety of different sources, from in-game events, to special flags that are only available with certain ship bundles in the store, to contests or events on the regional forums.
