Nürnberg — German Tier VI cruiser.
Nürnberg differed from her predecessors by having more advanced superstructures and certain changes to her armor. With the outbreak of World War II, the cruiser was laying minefields in the North Sea; however, during one such operation, she fell prey to a British submarine that torpedoed the ship. After the war, Nürnberg was transferred to the Soviet Union, where she received the name "Admiral Makarov."

Player Opinion
Performance
Touted as the Cleveland and Budyonny's rival, the Nürnberg is essentially a step up from her predecessor the Koenigsberg. Practically having similar layouts albeit this ship's "Bruno" or "X" turret now aligns with the centerline, what you have learned with the Koenigsberg, the Nurnberg makes it even better. Unloading faster at 6 seconds and with the same superlative range at her tier, she can pummel cruisers and destroyers into submission as well as be a nuisance for the battleships. Don't expect her to be a good effective AA screen however but do expect that she'll serve well as an anti-ship escort or bloodhound much like her predecessor.
A thing to be warned of, however, is that the light cruiser CANNOT take punishment so it should not be in a position where it is in the center of attention as it will be easily destroyed.Pros:
- Same impressive range as her predecessor
- Good gun handling and shell speed, coupled with the superlative hydroacoustic radar, makes her an ideal anti-destroyer ship
- Guns load at 6 seconds which is faster than her peers
- Low shell arc
- High muzzle velocity
- Same surprising AP damage when it punches through
- Improved AA suite
- Increased durability
- Retains the same superlative hydroacoustic radar or it can be swapped out for Defensive Fire to protect against the ever-increasing threat from carriers.
Cons:
- Handling feels like a tier 6 Konigsberg
- AA suite, despite being improved, does not change much
- Same citadel layout and A-XY turret layout as her predecessor
- Still very little armor, making modules vulnerable to incapacitations and devastating citadel hits
- Unlike the Konigsberg, the X and Y turrets cannot rotate through the forward arc of the ship
