Upon spawning, players will find themselves among a group of civilian vessels with the beaches of Dunkirk ahead. Marked red in the minimap is a large minefield, which may prove fatal if traversed. Players begin by making their way toward the beach. The enemy will first begin their attack with a group of enemy fighters that approach and spot the Allied convoy. With fighters spotting, enemy shore artillery will begin engaging Allied ships. The convoy will likely be embarking troops as the artillery opens fire. At this point, numerous squadrons of enemy dive-bombers will attack. These dive bombers are reinforced by small attack craft called Schnellboots. Players must come to a stop inside the Embarking zone where they will embark 500 personnel. At this point, a civilian vessel, Parks, will proclaim that he is not going to stay and be fired at. He invites players to follow him, but he is inevitably mined. Players will then escort the convoy through a narrow passage between minefields while repelling numerous waves of enemy forces. After running the passage, players will arrive at Dover, where they can offload their personnel.

In the operation, there are five types of enemies which may be encountered:

• Schnellboots: armed with torpedoes; fires two at a time.
• Torpedo Bombers: armed with aerial dropped torpedoes; Tier I aircraft.
• Dive Bombers: armed with aerial dropped bombs; Tier I aircraft.
• Fighter Squadrons: spot Allied ships for shore artillery to engage; Tier I aircraft.
• Shore Artillery: fires HE shells at Allied ships; cannot be spotted, immune to damage.

Tips

• Depending on which ship the player is in, use Defensive AA Fire and Smoke Screen Consumables only as needed. These consumables are most effective when deployed in a manner in-which multiple ships benefit from their use.
• When engaging Schnellboots, take the time to properly lead the target and try to account for shell arcs and flight time.
• Stick with the team; enemies will focus their fire on straggling ships.
• Do not try to traverse the minefield. By going slow, mines will appear. However, this does not hinder enemy aircraft from engaging the player's ship.
• Try to pick up survivors from sinking ships. By doing so, the team may still accomplish the secondary task of rescuing over 7,000 personnel.
