Upgrades

Players earn access to Upgrades starting at Account Level 6, allowing them to customize and improve each ship's performance to suit their desired play style. Ships of different tiers have access to different upgrades, defined by the tables below. Certain upgrades are unique to certain ship types or nations; check the Notes column for more detail.

Purchasing Upgrades

Upgrades may be purchased and mounted for credits. Some packages for purchase, challenge rewards, and mission rewards may also grant upgrades.

Only up to one upgrade may be mounted in each slot. An upgrade may be sold for half of its purchase cost. Alternatively, an upgrade may be demounted for 25 doubloons regardless of its purchase cost. When selling a ship, all upgrades mounted on that ship must either be sold or demounted.

Tier I+ Equipment (Slot 1)

Available only to Iwaki Alpha, Yubari, and Katori.

Tier III+ Equipment (Slot 4)

Flight Control Modification 1	2000000	Does not increase the maximum number of each type of tactical squadron aircraft on deck.: -10% to aircraft servicing time.	Stacks with Torpedo Armament Expertise. Applicable to aircraft; useful for aircraft carriers only.

Tier VI+ Equipment (Slot 5)

Does not improve acceleration in reverse, only forward. Unavailable to British cruisers, but they have high acceleration by default.

Tier VIII+ Equipment (Slot 6)

The spotting mechanics ignore line-of-sight obstacles — such as islands — when within 2 km (3 km with this upgrade) from an enemy. That's the "assured acquisition" range. Stacks with Vigilance when spotting torpedoes.
Concealment System Modification 1	2000000	: -10% to detectability radius. +5% to the maximum dispersion of enemy shells that fire on your ship.	Stacks with Concealment Expert.
Steering Gears Modification 2	2000000	Steering Gears Modification 2: -80% to steering gears repair time. -40% to rudder shift time.	Stacks with Steering Gears Modification 2. Unavailable to battleships or carriers.

Tier IX+ Equipment (Slot 3)

Artillery Plotting Room Modification 2	3000000	: -11% to maximum dispersion of main battery.	Available only to American battleships.
Flight Control Modification 2	3000000	: +5% to maximum aircraft speed.
Air Groups Modification 2	3000000	: +15% to attack aircraft survivability.	Applicable to Torpedo Bomber and Dive Bomber aircraft; useful for aircraft carriers only.
AA Guns Modification 1	500000	: +25% to average damage per second of AA mounts.	Affects damage per second of all AA guns. Stacks with Basic Firing Training.
Secondary Battery Modification 2	3000000	Decreases secondary battery reload time: -20% to secondary battery loading time.	Stacks with Basic Firing Training.

Special Upgrades

Super upgrades are special upgrades obtainable only through supercontainers. These upgrades are available for use in specific slots and generally restricted to ships Tier VI and above. Ships must be able to equip the corresponding consumable in order to mount these upgrades (e.g. Des Moines cannot mount Smoke Generator Modification 1 and Gearing cannot mount Surveillance Radar Modification 1); however, they are not automatically compatible with all ships that can mount certain consumables (Missouri cannot mount Surveillance Radar Modification 1, for example). They are mounted normally like other upgrades (you can only have one upgrade in a slot at a time).
