Honk

Honk. I'm allowed to have some fun too. --Haswell:na (talk) 10:02, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Technical data of the warships

The wiki of most Wargaming games is nice and more or less up to date. However, the data for WoWs is not yet. Sure, it's still in Beta, so no problem with that.

Is there a way to update the information in the ships information database? I would like to put some effort in completing this information as well. (feel free to delete this page if inappropriate. please send me a pm through the forum if so) Janishri:eu (talk) 12:11, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Forgive me for dragging the template on for nearly a month now, I get distracted by interesting things (particularly things that don't involve the template). I'll try to produce something this week. In the mean time, feel free to fluff out the description, player opinion and historical sections. --Haswell:na (talk) 15:52, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

What is the policy in copying information from the international Wiki pages? Texts, images? Is it obligated or not needed to add a link to the page? Janishri:eu (talk) 18:50, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

It seems that the structure of the wiki has changed? I was redirected before to Battleship (still available), but now the proper page - including updated information - is Ship_types_battleship. Can you confirm the updated wiki structure? I will stick to the pages itself, was just looking to the overall structure while waiting for my previous question :) --Janishri:eu (talk) 20:06, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

The battleship page, along with other class and nation pages, are now obsolete with the implementation of the new automated pages, I moved them over several weeks ago to standardize the navigation alongside with other game titles (except WoT, it's a mess). There shouldn't be anything linking to the old battleship page now aside from your mentioning above, if you wish you can create a redirect so that it points to the new page.
Although I'm not a big fan of copying stuff from the "main" wiki, I hardly find it an issue worth worrying as long as references are cited, and even then I won't bother going over pages to check for that (laziest admin at your service). --Haswell:na (talk) 01:36, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Maps

Are there (high res) maps available for in the wiki? Possible heatmaps, attack patterns, etc? Or is that material for post-release? --Janishri:eu (talk) 20:03, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

While heatmaps and such can be found on vBAddict, they are usually outdated when maps become updated or new maps are introduced. I suppose this stuff can be included within the map pages under a strategy section, but it's up to you and others to edit in the info from countless sources. --Haswell:na (talk) 04:08, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
But is the content of these pages not coming from Wargaming itself? And to explain myself some more, I am talking about the World of Warships maps, not WoT. --Janishri:eu (talk) 08:40, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
WG can provide minimaps (and sometimes screenshots), but the rest is up to the players. The amazing Llamaclysm has very helpfully setup the maps page for WoWS with the appropriate list of maps, feel free to contribute and start adding strategy guide and such to those pages. --Haswell:na (talk) 17:54, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

Translation (ENG to FR)

Hello, I'm discovering this little wiki and the first think I tried is to switch to the french version (my native langage). No translation found, no right to do the job :-). How could I help ? Is there a way to create a "French tree". Guess the french community is numerous and I bet that some people will be motivated enough. Hope this msg will be read. Thx

--raoullevert24:eu (talk) 22:57, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

If you can get enough people to help out with the French translation, by all means feel free to start translating pages as you please. If you come across protected pages or titles that need translation, leave a note and I'll see about granting you and the other translators editing rights. --Haswell:na (talk) 14:05, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

IS listings broken

We have a problem. Currently the links on the Soviet and Heavy tank pages point to this link

https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:R01_IS

which is empty.

https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:IS

has content but it won't render due to something being broken in the syntax.

Can someone fix this? djbrianuk:eu (talk) 23:00, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

Several Tank articles broken

Seems several tank articles are broken(tank data does not display, no picture, all the article information renders on a narrow slot on right of the page), and had broken links in the relevant tanks section, such as the Pz. III. Since I cannot move pages, I used redirects. --Snake_Keeper:eu (talk) 11:01, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, found quite a few german ones:
https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:G54_E-50
https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:G73_E50_Ausf_M
https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:G77_PzIV_Schmalturm
https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:G24_VK3002DB
https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:G88_Indien_Panzer
https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:G03_PzV_Panther
In case it's the originating page that's the issue, these urls are used on the Germany overview: https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank_nations_germany
