The P26/40 is an Italian tier 4 medium tank.
Development of this vehicle started at the end of 1940, but due to difficulties in finding a suitable engine, the first prototype was manufactured only at the beginning of 1942. Mass production was launched in 1943 in Turin. After Italy's capitulation in the autumn of 1943, the tank entered service under the designation Panzerkampfwagen P40 737(i) and was used by the German reserve divisions as permanent fire positions. A total of 100 vehicles were produced.
The P26/40 leads to the P.43, and the Semovente M41.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Good top gun with high alpha damage, good RoF and acceptable handling
- Good protection, comparable thickness to the D.W. 2 plus sloping at front
- High penetrating HE shell, wrecks soft-skinned vehicles easily
- Good gun depression & elevation
Cons:
- Low HP pool for its size (320 with stock turret, and 350 with top turret)
- Subpar mobility, bad terrain resistance
- Slow shell velocty on the 75mm guns, head-scratching at mid to long range
- Low view range and radio range
Early Research
Stock tracks can hold all top modules but not full set of equipments. Select GLD or Vents, and preferrably the Binocs.
Only the radio carries over from the M15/42. Mount that.
Get the 75/32 gun first, so that the inadequate stock gun can be replaced.
Then the tracks; one may now mount full equipments.
Next research the engines, but notice the SPA 342 engine offers little advantage but weighs a lot, skip mounting it and go for the top one;
Research the top turret for overall improvements, finally the gun for a bit more penetration. Though it can be argued that the marginal increase in penetration is not worth the slight loss in DPM.
Alternatively:
One may also opt to mount the Enhanced Torsion Bars for weight capacity:

Next research the engines, but notice the SPA 342 engine offers little advantage but weighs a lot, skip mounting it and go for the top one;
Research the top turret for overall improvements, or the tracks for better terrain resistance;
Finish by researching the top gun.
