Equipment (WoWP)
Currently this page is under construction. There is however a page on the equipment in the old system, which can be found here: Equipment old system.
For an overview of the new equipment available, refer to this site: Equipment 2.0. Note that this page is quite extensive-- while it does cover nearly all information one needs, it may not be fully insightful.
Article relevant for patch 2.1.12
Equipment is an important element of customization, allowing the adaptation of some of the plane's parameters to the specific player and his style of play. Properly selected equipment allows you to compensate for the shortcomings of the plane and / or enhance its merits.
Equipment can be Stock, Improved, Advanced, or Ultimate. To improve each equipment you need materials that can be earned in victorious battles and credits, and you can also receive bonus characteristics for each Enhancement. Dismantling of Stock equipment is free. A more subtle way to improve the equipment is available - calibration. It allows you to improve the basic properties.
Equipment always costs 15,000/150,000
/250,000
for periods I, II, and III respectively.

Calibrating and Enhancing Equipment
By enhancing and calibrating equipment, your equipment's positive effects can be increased at the cost of increased negative effects. Enhancing equipment also adds bonus positive effects on the equipment. Bonus effects on equipment higher than 'Improved' require the plane to be Specialist in order for the effect to be active.
When calibrating equipment, you can either gain or lose up 20 calibration levels. Enhancing equipment increases the calibration level by 100.
The calibration range for ultimate equipment ranges from 400-478.
From my testing, the numbers it can end on are 0,4,6,8. It never ends on a 2. There is no 476.
Calibration | Positive effect | Negative effect |
---|---|---|
400 | =0 | =0 |
404 | =0 | +1 |
406 | +1 | -2 |
408 | =0 | +2 |
410 | +1 | -1 |
414 | +1 | =0 |
416 | +2 | -3 |
418 | +1 | +1 |
420 | +2 | -2 |
424 | +2 | -1 |
426 | +3 | -4 |
428 | +2 | =0 |
430 | +3 | -3 |
434 | +3 | -2 |
436 | +4 | -5 |
438 | +3 | -1 |
440 | +4 | -4 |
444 | +4 | -3 |
446 | +5 | -6 |
448 | +4 | -2 |
450 | +5 | -5 |
454 | +5 | -4 |
456 | +6 | -7 |
458 | +5 | -3 |
460 | +6 | -6 |
464 | +6 | -5 |
466 | +7 | -8 |
468 | +6 | -4 |
470 | +7 | -7 |
474 | +7 | -6 |
478 | +7 | -5 |
Numbers ending in 6 are the start of a range with increased positive effects with the highest negative effects while numbers ending in 8 are the end of a range with the least negative effects. 466 being the range with the highest positive effect, has the highest negative effect.
So you can think of this as the ranges.
