Halford — American special premium Tier IX destroyer.
USS Halford, a Fletcher-class destroyer, received a catapult for a float plane in place of her aft torpedo mount and one of her main guns, allowing the ship to launch a Kingfisher scout observation plane. The catapult turned out not to be operationally suitable for the intended purpose and was ultimately removed from Halford in October 1943. In 1944, the ship provided fire cover for amphibious operations on the Solomon Islands, New Guinea, and the Philippines; she took part in battles in the Philippine Sea and Leyte Gulf. During the course of World War II, Halford was awarded 13 battle stars.
Halford was first released for sale on 30 June 2023. She was added to the Armory on 10 January 2024 with the release of Update 13.0, and is available for 228,000 Coal .

Player Opinion
Performance
Halford sits in a very unique and rather difficult position due to it's "identity clash." Halford is first and foremost, a Fletcher-class destroyer that sacrificed a torpedo launcher, a single primary gun and bit of anti-aircraft capability for a catapult that launches 4 F8 float Bearcats with Tiny Timm rockets. Despite this unique addition, Halford is still expected to be actively involved in the battle, providing destroyer duties to their team. However, unlike other hybrid ships that permit players to control their squadron without any significant worry, Halford doesn't come with that luxury. And while the Tiny Timms do respectfull damage to the enemy ships, in the end, Halford plays like a worse Fletcher.

When it finishes, it will have reloaded both squadrons simultaneously, regardless of when control is given up on the second squadron.
- The “Smoke Generator” consumable has been added, similar in characteristics to that of Tier IX American destroyers.
- DevBlog 441:
- Detectability range by sea reduced from 8.3 to 7.9 km.
- Detectability range after firing main battery guns in smoke reduced from 3.3 to 3.1 km.
- Detectability range by air increased from 3.3 to 3.6 km.
- Squadron reloading has been changed: now, each squadron reloads sequentially for 120 s.
- Detectability range by sea reduced from 8.3 to 7.9 km.
- DevBlog 446:
- Added the “Engine Cooling” consumable to the attack aircraft squadron.
- Detectability range by sea reduced from 7.9 to 7.5 km.
