In 1948, the ship was transferred to the East and ended up as a part of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) a year later. In the early 1950s, a refurbishment plan to replace her weapons and equipment with Soviet-made models was laid out.

Huanghe was released in the store on January 31st, 2022.
