SMS Orjen was a Tátra-class destroyer, one of the first turbine destroyers in the Austro-Hungarian Navy. She was fast and armed with highly effective 4-inch (100 mm) guns designed by the Škoda company, which later became the prototype for an entire family of Italian guns. During World War I, SMS Orjen participated in the bombardment of the Italian coast, raids on the Otranto Barrage, and, together with her sister ships, forced the Italians to abandon their positions on the island of Pelagosa.
