Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Better mix of forward guns compared to the Fw 57, adding 4 machine guns.
- Can carry 2 more powerful bombs
- Best service ceiling of any Tier 4 plane in the game.
- Better roll rate than the Fw 57
Cons:
- Inferior autocannons compared to the Fw 57
- Retains horrendous turn time.
- Weaker rear gun than the Fw 57
- Sluggish boost, hard to escape from persistent pursuers.
Performance
The 110 B improves on aspects of its predecessor. For one it does have better engine power, allowing some maneuvers that would be too risky to attempt on the Fw 57. With additional guns, the overall firepower of the 110 B is better than that on the Fw 57. However, individually the autocannons are in fact inferior, even when fully upgraded in terms of damage output compared to its predecessor, a fact that will grow frustrating at times.
Otherwise, the gameplay remains mostly the same, avoid getting into the middle of crowded airbases or furballs for too long. The fewer aircraft that can turn on your own, then better - as despite the greater engine power, the 110 B is sluggish to really gain much speed when specialized under boost, making getting into hairy situations a lethal ordeal. The 110 B does have consistent DPS though, making taking out individual aircraft and ground pounders little issue.
The 110 B is best described as an opportunistic vulture. Strike at individual aircraft often, or swoop into furballs then run out of them before others can react.
