Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Lots of health
- 23mm cannon can do moderate damage to heavy ground targets
- Able to destroy any ground target with ease
Cons:
- No tail gunner
- Helpless if tailed
- poor maneuverability
Performance
This plane is the first Ilyushin made aircraft obtainable. It is a departure from the TSH series in the way that it is much slower and has auto cannons now. It's guns are impressive, if a head on does occur, you will wreck them. It's massive health pool is very useful and offsets the fact that you don't have a tail gunner. It's downfalls are it's speed and maneuverability. If you compare it to the FW 189, it is inferior for the most part. It's faster (stock) and has more health but when it comes to guns and maneuverability, the 189 is better. And it has a tail gunner too. Both are capable attack aircraft and are similar, however it's personal choice which one you'll like more. Do you want more health or more maneuverability? That's the choice you have to make. This aircraft leads to the IL-2
Early Research
- Getting the 23mm cannons is a must
- engines are shared with the MiG 3
