Player Opinion

Performance

Hill is a Tier V U.S. Navy destroyer that was attainable through the "Rogue Wave" event in update 0.8.5. Compared to her tech tree counterpart [[Nicholas]], Hill has less hit points (HP). To balance this, she has an added turret, better turning radius, and is slightly faster. Hill excels at hunting destroyers at her tier due to the limited amount of radar she will face. She performs best when utilizing islands for cover, baiting the enemy into her torpedo range. In open water, her Smoke Generator (While active, generates a smoke screen that blocks line-of-sight for both enemies and teammates.) provides quick cover to allow for Hill to engage with guns or return to concealment. For more information consult the review made by LittleWhiteMouse(NA).

Pros:

  • Five fast-reloading US 127mm guns
  • Good agility with a decent top speed.
  • Long-lasting American smoke.
  • Torpedo armament layout provides dedicated launchers to each side of the ship with an extra launcher that can engage either way.

Cons:

  • Short torpedo firing range.
  • Mediocre concealment.
  • Poor anti-aircraft armament.
  • Middle turret's firing angles are limited.

Research

As a premium ship, Hill doesn't have any upgrades to research.
