Special

Tashkent '39 — Soviet special premium Tier VII destroyer.

Destroyer flotilla leader Tashkent was designed and built at the Odero-Terni-Orlando shipyard in Italy. Three Soviet-made 130 mm B-2L (Model 1936) twin-gun turrets were supposed to be placed on the ship; however, at the design stage, the B-2L and B-2M projects were merged into one—B-2LM—which caused delays during testing. When she was commissioned into the navy in October 1939, three single-gun 130 mm B-13 gun mounts were placed on the ship as temporary weapons. It was with that artillery on board that the ship met the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Tashkent received her standard weaponry of three B-2LM mounts by July 1941.

Tashkent '39 was first released for sale on 05 May 2023.

Player Opinion

Performance

Warning. The data presented in the AA Defense sidebar section may be incorrect.
Refer to the in-game Port screens for more useful data.

The Tashkent '39 is a odd ship. It is usually described as a French and Japanese destroyer hybrid or also known as tier VII Paolo Emilio. The ship enjoys a high speed, a lot of torpedos and a big hp pool, at the cost of concealment, main gun dpm and size.

Due to everything mentioned above it is best used for torpedo snipping or as an torpedo boat. The speed can make up for the worse concealment and torpedo reload consumable can help to launch up to 6 full torpedo salvos in 15-20 seconds. This makes the Tashkent '39 an dangerous opponent if the enemy ships aren't careful. But the huge size, bad aa, bad concealment and bad main guns can easily sink this destroyer if the player isn't careful or if the enemy knows the Tashkent's weaknesses. Tashkent '39 does have another trick up it's sleeve, and that is the smoke. Which can be useful in critical situation. But beware that you have to slow down to about 10 knots for the smoke to be able to catch up with the ship.

Pros:

  • Extremely fast, the ship can hit speeds of up to 50.6 knots with flag and speed booster enabled.
  • Torpedo reload consumable can be useful in plenty of situations
  • Tashkent '39 has the biggest hp pool of all tier 7 Destroyers, so it can soak up a bit of damage.
  • Has access to Smoke

Cons:

  • Weak main guns
  • High detectibility, 7,5km base and 6,8km with captain skill
  • Poor AA, even for a destroyer

Research

As a premium ship, Tashkent '39 has no module upgrades to research.

Optimal Configuration

Upgrades

The recommended upgrades are:

In Slot 3, Torpedo Tubes Modification 1 is recommended, to increase Tashkent '39’s torpedo speed and reduce the chances of her torpedo tubes breaking. Aiming Systems Modification 1 is available as an alternate, but is less useful as her guns are already reasonably accurate and her torpedoes are her primary weapon.

Commander Skills

Consumables

Tashkent '39 equips the following consumables:

Camouflage

As a premium ship, Tashkent '39 comes with Default permanent camouflage and a set of permanent combat bonuses.

Signals

Note: Use of the Juliet Charlie signal makes detonation impossible.
