Torpedo bombers — one of aircraft types, are the main striking force of an aircraft carrier. These aircraft are able to counteract any kind of ships, however, against maneuverable targets it`s important to get planes on them or to use a "Hammer and Anvil" method — cross-drop of two or more torpedo spreads.

Depending of the aircraft career tier it`s torpedo bombers can carry one or two torpedoes with following distinct values:

• damage;
• travel speed;
• range;
• visibility;
• flooding chance;
• arm time.

The range is usually quite short so it's best to attack closer to the target.

Torpedoes characteristics can be improved as follow:

• "Torpedo Acceleration" commander skill will increase torpedoes travel speed by 5 knots, but reduce their range by 20%;
• "Aerial Torpedoes Modification 1" upgrade will increase torpedoes travel speed by 5%;
• flag signals can increase the flooding chance as follow:
  • • Victor Lima — by +4%;
    • Juliet Whiskey Unaone — by +15%.

Torpedo bombers are the main striking force of an aircraft carrier and are able counteract any kind of ships. However, against maneuverable targets it`s important to get planes on them or to use a "Hammer and Anvil" method — cross-drop of two or more torpedo spreads.

The most effective method is to drop torpedoes into the side of an enemy ship. In this case the destruction area ​​is maximal and the torpedo attack is considered to be most effective.

Depending on the aircraft, the torpedo spread begins to narrow during and after the descent while prepare for an attack. The spread is divided into sectors according to the torpedoes amount, ready to be dropped by your aircraft. You can drop torpedoes as soon as the sight color swap to green, but it is better to reach a narrower spread. This way you will more likely hit the enemy.

Remember that torpedoes need time to aim and successfully hit their target. For your convenience, the aim distance is highlighted in yellow and the range in green.

To carry out an effective attack with torpedo bombers you should switch to attack mode at a considerable distance from the target. Do not forget the allowance and that the enemy could attempt to evade your attack.
