The Chrysler K is an American tier 8 premium heavy tank.
A project of the Chrysler Corporation, developed in the summer of 1946. The vehicle featured a number of design solutions that were not typical of U.S. tank-building. In particular, the Chrysler K was to have its transmission and engine located in the front, and the armament compartment—in the rear part of the hull. All crew members would have sat in the turret. It is thought that this project was the first U.S. project to position the driver in the turret. It was not supported by the army due to limited funding.
A controversial tank when introduced into World of Tanks in the spring of 2017, the Chrysler K features very strong frontal armor with few weak spots, good mobility, and a 105mm gun with poor standard but excellent premium shells.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Good accuracy and aim time
- Very good premium APCR ammo, high penetration and good shell velocity
- Very strong upper plate and turret front
- Excellent acceleration, maintains speed well
- Ridiculous ammo capacity, a whopping 100 rounds
Cons:
- Poor standard ammo penetration
- Weak lower glacis and side/rear armor
- Large target, priority for artillery
- Poor gun depression for an American heavy tank at six degrees
- The rear-mounted turret makes certain positions hard or even impossible to use effectively
Performance
The Chrysler K is an excellent side scraper -- pull up to some non-destructible hard cover and hide your lower plate, angle your hull (but not your turret), keep moving back and forth, and use your very good side and well-sloped turret armor to bounce enemy shells while inserting your own into their tanks. There are two weak spots in the frontal armour -- inobvious and hard to hit -- the very small cupola on top of the turret is abnormally strong, barely qualifying as a weak spot at all. The lower frontal plate is thicker than the upper, but the upper is angled better, which adds up to hide your lower plate if possible. Avoid placing your tank on a down slope, the top of your turret is weak; and avoid going over ridge lines, which decreases your lower plate's effective slope -- level terrain works best, and try to go around hills rather than over. Angle your hull so when your main gun is pointed at your most dangerous opponent your barrel is right over the front drive sprocket. The side mini turrets are NOT part of your hit box, so don't worry about them.
Speed is only average for a heavy but a 1200 horsepower engine gives the Chrysler an excellent power-to-weight ratio of 20 hp/ton, allowing medium-like acceleration and good hill climbing. Ground resistances are better than average and the tank turns well, but the Chrysler is big and slow enough to make you a juicy artillery target; try to stay "arty safe".
Standard shells are AP and have terrible penetration, tempting you to use the T5E1A's high-pen premium APCR rounds. Ammo capacity is a generous 100 rounds, allowing a very flexible loadout. The gun is otherwise OK, 320 alpha is almost exactly average for a tier 8 heavy tank, the reload speed isn't great, but it probably won't get you killed if you're brawling a same tier tank, high tier adversaries will punish you hard with their better guns though, a gun rammer is a recommended pick if you plan to fight up close. 0.36 dispersion is workable at medium range, with an aiming system equipped you can even fight back effectively against snipers, but whether its worth using over other equipment is up to you.
The Chrysler's crew layout -- Commander (Radio Operator), Gunner, Driver, Loader -- matches these non-premium American heavies: the Pawlack Tank, M-II-Y, M-III-Y, M-V-Y, M-VI-Y (essentially all the newer "Yoh" tanks), plus the T54E1, T110E5, and T57 Heavy, making it a good crew trainer for all.
The Chrysler K is identical to the Chrysler K GF except the former lacks the black paint job, the Wargaming emblem, and the free camo bonus, which at a base Concealment value of 60 isn't saying much. Apply your favorite camo pattern to get the same Concealment value, which will set you back at least 25 gold.
