The T-26G FT is a Chinese tier 2 tank destroyer.
The T-26 tanks were exported by the USSR to China in the late 1930s, where they saw service in the 200th Mechanized Division of the National Revolutionary Army of Kuomintang (China). During the 1946–50 civil war, a number of vehicles were captured by the People's Liberation Army in eastern China in 1949. In 1950, they were used as a basis for the creation of at least two modifications of tank destroyers.
The T-26G FT is the sole Tier II Chinese tank destroyer in the game, featuring an outstanding main gun and concealment but poor armor and view range.
The T-26G FT marks the end of its Chinese tank destroyer line.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
Amongst all Tier II tank destroyers . . .
- 47mm gun has the best penetration and DPM
- Large ammo capacity
- The best frontal armor (but see below)
- Boasts the highest health
- The best concealment, both when stationary and on the move
- Good reverse speed
- It can pivot
Cons:
- Next-to-worst gun depression
- Somewhat sluggish mobility
- Prone to engine damage even from frontal hits
- Lackluster view range
Performance
The T-26G FT is a glass cannon, but oh what a cannon.
Its 47mm main gun has 81mm of AP penetration, the best in all of Tier II -- good enough to take on anything short of an intelligently-angled Valentine, and for those your have APCR rounds packing 130mm of pen. Alpha damage is good, and combined with a decent rate of fire the gun gives you the best DPM in class by a small margin. Its gun depression, horizontal traverse limits, and accuracy are all workable. Aim time is faster than its reload speed, so when putting multiple rounds into the same target you won't have to wait to fully-aim-in.
Armor protection is also best in class, but that's not saying much -- only 18mm up front and 15 to the sides and rear -- really good for a Tier II TD but poor overall; enemy autocannon can send you back to the garage pretty quickly. Fortunately amongst all the Tier II TD's this one has the best health.
But your best defense is not being seen, and (if you don't count the TKS 20, which is technically a light tank) the T-26G FT features the best concealment in class -- you can get it to 44% stationary/28% moving with Brothers in Arms, full Concealment skills, and a nice camo paint job.
Forward mobility is not the worst, but it could be better; it moves and turns rather sluggishly for its small size; fortunately that same smallness makes you hard to hit at range.
View range is a final weak point -- like the Tetrarch it could use a lot more of it. Full BIA, Recon, and Situational Awareness, plus a binocular telescope, will get you up to 363m.
Overall the T-26G FT is not a bad little damage monster and a fun tank destroyer, and for Tier II it's a very good credits maker -- perhaps only the MKA is better. Keep the enemy at range, stay hidden, and you can do very well.
Early Research
You want that excellent firepower so equip the 47mm main gun first, then get the top tracks so you can mount some equipment, then get the top engine.
Suggested Equipment
Documented Tank and Crew Builds
A Binocular Telescope is highly recommended to keep at range and survive all the autocannon-wielding enemies at Tier II, but Improved Ventilation could work instead to increase raw firepower.
