The Vz. 44-1 is a Czechoslovakian tier 7 heavy tank.
A project for a heavy tank developed in the mid-1940s based on concepts developed by Škoda at the request of Porsche. The plans called for using an electromechanical transmission and a diesel engine. Existed only in blueprints.
The Vz. 44-1 leads to the TNH 105/1000.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
It does get better. Second turret is second best of the tier, with only the T-29 having better armor. Top gun offers very good penetration and damage per shot, despite having the lowest DPM. Concealment is good for a Tier VII heavy for what its worth. Elevation is also very good compared to its peers, though this is of dubious value with the tanks thin roof armor.
Cons:
Horrific Stock Grind, struggles to be effective in tier due to horrible mobility, sub-par accuracy, low damage for role, and armor that can be penned by same tier vehicles. All modules except radio are unique to the vehicle so they cannot be researched on another line. Low DPM, accuracy, are not offset by quick aim time or high damage per shot and this tank struggles to handle even tier 6 heavies, let alone its peers. Cannot go head to head with any other tier VII heavy.
Performance
The worst Tier VII heavy. Good concealment is not much use for a tank that cannot snipe due to poor accuracy. Likewise the short aim time and high penetration are meaningless if fully aimed shots don't land. The first two guns are inaccurate with long reloads compared to similar guns. The VZ 44-1 starts with an 88mm similar to the L/56 available on the VK 36.01 H but with worse accuracy, reload time, and aim time. Damage and penetration are the same, and the gun has the arguably useless benefit of higher elevation. Armor can be penned by many same tier tanks without needing to resort to premium rounds, the lower plate is especially weak. Positioning this tank to be effective is also hard due to the poor mobility with the first engine. When compared to the Tiger, T-29, IS, and KV-3 the VZ 44-1 has the worst firepower, it only manages to beat the Black Prince for poorest mobility. The remaining stats are neither the best or the worst, but where as other heavies at this tier have redeeming features the VZ 44-1 has practically none.
Early Research
Second gun is a poor upgrade, not really improving over the stock gun, but is necessary for the second turret. Turret and second engine are both major upgrades, and should be researched ASAP. Free XP will be needed in buckets.
