The DS PZInż is a Polish tier 5 medium tank.
A proposed project of a medium tank, developed in the engine department of the National Engineering Works factory (Dział Silnikowy PZInż) in the late 1930s in Poland. This vehicle represented a further development of the 10TP tank and was supposed to feature the Christie suspension, enhanced armor, and stronger armament. Most components of the tank were destroyed during the bombing of Warsaw industrial areas in 1939.
The Dział Silnikowy Państwowych Zakładów Inżynierii, DS PZInż for short -- perhaps pronounced pee-ZET-inzh -- is an interesting medium tank. It features an excellent main gun combined with good concealment and mobility, but its armor protection and radios are poor.
The DS PZInż leads to the B.U.G.I..

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Good gun depression, aim time, and accuracy
- Very good penetration and alpha
- Large ammo capacity
- Good concealment for a medium
- Good top speed, acceleration, and traverse speed
- Relatively easy grind from stock to elite, stock gun is decent, top gun is the same as on the 25TP
Cons:
- Below average DPM
- Poor gun handling from movement and hull traverse
- Top turret holds less ammunition than stock (total loadout 85 rounds, down from 90)
- Armor mostly only good for attenuating HE damage; low-pen Tier IV's
- Very high terrain resistances, bleeds speed easily
- Commander is also the Radio Operator, limiting perk choices
Performance
With the 75mm wz.36/37 main gun you have the third-best aim time, AP penetration, and alpha in class (Tier V mediums). Gun handling is poor when moving/turning the hull but traversing the turret hurts aim time less than usual, which suggests keeping the DS PZInż in one place and at greater than short ranges if possible to allow faster snap shots. The excellent penetration allows you to fire at longer ranges than most while still being able to hurt enemies; APCR is good enough to take on Tier VII's.
The DS PZInż is a bit longer and wider than the average Tier V medium, but enjoys a bit lower profile. Frontal armor is mediocre at 50mm on both turret and hull, even less on the sides, so angling doesn't pay much; the best you can probably do is angle your hull so the front drive sprocket is right underneath the main gun. You can pull off a few lucky bounces here and there, effectively increasing your health by an average of about 12 to 13 percent.
Your best defenses are concealment, staying at range, going hull down, and using hard and soft cover to avoid enemy fire.
Mobility is excellent with an (on paper) 56kph top speed and good acceleration and reverse speed.
View range is good enough to allow 447 meters with only a 100% crew, full Brothers in Arms, and Binocular Telescope; short of using food it can be pushed up to 481m with all the right skills and Improved Ventilation. But at 430m Signal Range is on the low side, hurting the tank's ability to scout in a pinch -- it can be done but of course a light tank is preferred.
The crew setup -- Commander (Radio Operator), Gunner, Driver, Loader -- matches three premium Polish mediums: the CS-52 (both C and LIS variants) and the Rudy PL; all three are perfect crew trainers for the DS PZInż.
Play this tank like a sniper and flanker, keeping at medium to long ranges and using your good mobility to relocate to better firing positions, avoiding enemy fire, flexing to where you're needed, and taking advantage of a weak or collapsed enemy flank.
Early Research
Focus on getting the excellent top gun, then the top turret for substantially more view range, then the top radio (it's very cheap), then upgraded tracks, and then the top engine. Research the B.U.G.I to elite the tank, and don't forget to turn on Accelerated Crew Training.
Suggested Equipment
Documented Tank and Crew Builds
Set up the DS PZInż as a sniper. Start with a Binocular Telescope, but options are wide open for the other two slots: a Camouflage Net, Improved Ventilation, and Low Noise Exhaust are all good choices. (Note that vertical stabilization is unavailable.) But despite the tank lacking in DPM a Gun Rammer is not recommended -- rate of fire is so slow that by the time you're reloaded your target is likely to have taken cover.
Crew perks should be the usual for a sniper platform and to mitigate the tank's weaknesses: Concealment, BIA, Smooth Ride, Situational Awareness, Recon, Intuition, Off-Road Driving, and Signal Boosting. (On your Commander be sure to take Situational Awareness before Recon, it provides a larger view range bonus.)
