The Object 260 is a Soviet tier 10 premium heavy tank.
A version of the Object 260 heavy tank. The design plans were completed in September 1945, but no prototypes were manufactured.
The Object 260 is earned after completing the fourth set of Personal Missions (The Long Awaited Backup Campaign). In game update 1.3, Object 260 received several buffs to gun handling, reload, aim time, gun depression, ammo rack capacity and turret armor (especially the roof weakspot).

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Strong frontal hull armor and turret armor
- Great gun handling and DPM
- 3rd highest standard penetration (260mm) of all heavy tanks (default ammunition is APCR!)
- Superior top speed and less weight than IS-7, giving it excellent mobility similar to mediums
- High speed and good armor make it good for ramming
Cons:
- Turret has a cupola weakspot unlike the IS-7's turret (it is small, though).
- Lower plate is easily penned like the IS-7's, but the thick beak from IS-7 is absent.
- Armor is preangled, like on IS-7, so angling makes UFP much weaker.
- Extremely low HP pool for a heavy tank, tied for 2nd worst HP pool out of all tier X heavies.
- Requires completion of all four sets of Personal Missions to earn.
Performance
The Object 260 feels a lot like a faster IS-7 with better gun handling and standard ammo penetration. However, this would be underselling the vehicle's capabilities. The default APCR comes with a fast shell speed (unusual for a HT). In addition, the 340 penetration HEAT rounds are far superior to the IS-7's 303 mm APCR, which also suffers from horrific penetration drop-off. The gun being a 122mm also allows for a decently fast rate of fire, something the IS-7 sorely lacked. All of this combines to make the vehicle a flexible assault/flanking vehicle, able to rapidly shift towards battlefield conditions. The much-improved terrain resistances compared to the IS-7 is what gives it the great mobility, and combined with the high engine power, a 260 with turbocharger will easily hit 55-65km on average, making this tank's mobility on par with contemporary mediums.
However, this is where the rose-tint glasses need to come off. Despite all of these good characteristics, the 260 pays for all of this by having the second lowest base HP pool of all tier 10 HTs (2100), being better than only the Kranvagn and tied with the VZ-55. Despite having the same pike nose design as the IS-7, the thickness is much lower, and the hull is taller, negating a good amount of potential armor. The turret also features a commander's cupola on the left side (looking at the tank from the front). While small, it can be penetrated by most shells found in tier 10 gameplay. In addition, the low-ish alpha of 440 may throw off some players who have been used to other Soviet HTs (Contemporaries IS7 and 277 having 490). The sides are also slightly weaker than the IS-7, but given the playstyle of this tank it should not matter too much.
In all, the 260 is a versatile assault HT which owes it's strengths to mobility and ability to sustain a competitive rate of fire. This in combination with the armor makes the 260 a universal soldier in about any scenario. The Object 260 is the ultimate "Heavium" (Heavy/Medium) blend, and players who keep in mind good positions and proper action will have no problem using the tank to its fullest potential.
