The Wargaming Wiki is a web resource, where players can find useful information on all Wargaming titles. While the platform is provided by Wargaming, it's the community itself that shares their knowledge on the game and the content. So if you're interested in contributing to the wiki yourself, read on to learn the basics in just a couple of minutes!
Before we jump right in, please follow these simple guidelines:
- Making mistakes is fine. You can always revert to the previous version if something broke on the page.
- Be objective. When entering information, stay with the facts and avoid writing too opinionated texts. Use non-first-person views only.
On this page, you will find out the basics of editing the wiki, such as using templates and filling pages with information (text, links, and images).
Create a new page
If you see red clickable text, that means that there's a link to a page that doesn't exist yet. Clicking it will open the wiki editor. Fill out the page with all the information.
Before saving, please use the "Show preview" feature to see if the page looks as you want it to.
Should you want to link to a completely new page, you need to first create a link to that particular page. Since it obviously doesn't exist yet, the text will be red (see the paragraph above).

- If the text is the same as the page name: [[World of Tanks]] ==> World of Tanks

Edit a tank page
As you'll most likely work on the tank pages, adding info on the vehicles and their gameplay, let’s take a look at the ‘TankData’ template. This one is used for every tank page on the World of Tanks wiki:

- TankData|Tank= <== Leave this empty, the tank data is added automatically.

- |InTheGame_research= <== Type here your recommendations on which modules to research first to make the grind as efficient/comfortable as possible.
- |InTheGame_equipment= <== Mention here the pieces of equipment you recommend mounting into the vehicle. Please mind that you need to use the correct name, else the picture won’t show.
- |InTheGame_Equipment_Builds= <== Can be used to describe further the choice of equipment, together with Crew Skills.
- |External_Reviews= <== Normally used to link videos created by YouTubers.
- |History= <== Add here historical information about the vehicle.
- |HistoricalGallery= <== In case there are historical images, link them here.

- |Ref_sources= <== Part of the “Sources and External Links” section. Meant for links leading outside of the wiki if the information has been taken from there to people can read up the source of the information. in case there’s additional information to be found about a vehicle.

We recommend you to use thumbnails for larger images for the sake of proper layout. Use [[File:File.png|200px|thumb|left|text]] to use a 200 pixel wide rendition in a box in the left margin with "text" as the description (recommended for use in article text body).
- Alter the "200px" part to another value if you want to change the size of the thumbnail.
- Possible alignment options are "left", "center", and "right".
- Replace "text" with a short description of the image.
