? | |InTheGame_performance= | | + | |InTheGame_performance= The Churchill I is a menace on the battlefield, directly influencing the outcome of the game at desperate times. Its hitpool is enormous, tied with the premium Churchill III for the most health in its tier. The gun is not bad either, and it can easily pick out slow heavies and crush them. However, the Churchill's side and back armor only changes a bit from the Matilda, which is useless in Tier 5, 6, and 7 battles. Also, it is even slower than the Matilda, usually only going up to 17 kph, which is tremendously slow even by heavy standards. As with the Matilda and proceeding vehicles, fast tanks can easily outmaneuver and destroy the Churchill. Once a Churchill starts going somewhere, it is feverishly difficult to go another way, so choose wisely! Overall, the Churchill is for those who have tired of the same old heavies and those that excell with slow vehicles |

The A22 prototype was built by Vauxhall Motors in the fall of 1940. The vehicle first entered mass production in the summer of 1941. Early modifications had no track fenders, a different fan, and a 3-inch howitzer in the hull. A total of 300 Churchill I tanks were manufactured.
