?In game, the top gun of the Pz. IV Ausf.A, the 7,5 cm Kw.K. 37 L/24, is a very powerful armament. Possessing very good accuracy and aim time for a derp gun, the gun is only limited in its capability by its fairly poor penetration and low shell velocity. This means that the gun can suffer against heavily armored tier 4 opponent, such as a Hetzer, thus requiring a mandatory stock of premium HEAT. However, the gun is very effective against opponents of the same tier, as the penetration of 43mm is enough to get through all tier 3 tanks. The gun also possesses very high alpha damage for a tier 3, which can take out half of the health of any tier 3 and almost all of any tier 2. This makes peek-a-boo tactics very viable, which is also especially important in this lightly armored tank, as it can help to reduce exposure to enemy fire.+In game, the top gun of the Pz. ?Speaking of armor, or rather, the lack of it, the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. A is very fragile machine with only 14mm of hull armor and 30mm of turret armor at most. While it does have a generous health pool, this tank is clearly an ideal example of a glass cannon and thus should be kept away from any tank that can have a derp gun. This includes the American M2 Med, the Hetzer, the T82 and T40 and many other TDs. In this situations, it is ideal to let them deal with other more heavily armored allies, while you use your mobility to flank and deal high damage to their weaker side and rear armor.+Speaking of armor, or rather, the lack of it, the Pz.Kpfw. ?When compared to its other tier 3 brethren, the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. A might not have the best armor or mobility, but it does have the better punch. ?P.S. The high damage potential of this tank means that it is able to make quite a sum of money, averaging 10k per battle for experienced players. Due to the quicker nature of low tier battles, this tank can be used as an impromptu 'Premium' tank that can help to earn credits, or used to fuel its HEAT stock that is often required for the hard to crack Hetzers and Matilda. Since many low tier tanks do not carry gold ammo, you have the element of surprise when dealing with them.+The high damage potential of this tank means that it is able to make quite a sum of money, averaging 10k per battle for experienced players. Development of the vehicle started in 1935. It was nicknamed Pz Kpfw IV in April 1936. Mass production began in the fall of 1937, and the first vehicles saw service starting in 1938. A total of 35 vehicles were manufactured and were in service until 1941.

One of the newest additions to the game, this Tier 3 medium is an extremely powerful tank when used certain ways. One of its greatest strengths of this tank is its 75mm howitzer. When using HE, it is more than capable of penetrating most tier threes it might come up against. Capable of doing 200 avg damage in a shot, it can equal the power of the popular M2 Medium. One weakness it does have is its minimal armor protection, having only 14mm of hull armor, and 30mm of turret armor at the front. This makes it a large target for other howitzers, especially the T82.

Performance

The Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. A is one of the more capable tier 3 tanks in the game. Sporting a powerful 75mm top gun and good mobility, it is not surprising for experienced players to deal upwards of a 1000 dmg in a battle.

In game, the top gun of the Pz. IV Ausf.A, the 7,5 cm Kw.K. 37 L/24, is a very powerful armament. Possessing very good accuracy and aim time for a howitzer gun, the gun is only limited in capability by its fairly poor penetration and low shell velocity. This means that the gun can suffer against heavily armored tier 4 opponents, such as the Hetzer, thus requiring a mandatory stock of some premium HEAT. However, the gun is very effective against opponents of the same tier, as the penetration of 43mm is enough to get through all tier 3 tanks. The gun also possesses very high alpha damage for a tier 3, which can take out half of the health of any tier 3 and almost all of any tier 2. This makes peek-a-boo tactics very viable, which is also especially important in this lightly armored tank, as it can help to reduce exposure to enemy fire.

Speaking of armor, or rather, the lack of it, the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. A is very fragile machine with only 14mm of hull armor and 30mm of turret armor at most. While it does have a generous health pool, this tank is clearly an ideal example of a glass cannon and thus should be kept away from any tank that has a howitzer gun, such as the American M2 Medium, the Hetzer, the T82 and T40, and many other TDs. In these situations, it is ideal to let them deal with other more heavily armored allies, while you use your mobility to flank and deal high damage to their weaker side and rear armor.

The mobility, while not BT-2 and BT-7 standards, is still good enough for this tank to relocate rapidly. This can help the tank to escape from danger, move to a better positions to support, or even to circle slower opponents.

When compared to its other tier 3 brethren, the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. A might not have the best armor or mobility, but it does have the best punch. Also, the addition of AP ammo means that the tank is often able to fully penetrate a tank, since HE ammo is easily stopped by sloped or spaced armor such as tracks, making the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. A superior to the M2 Med, which only has HE ammo.

Since many low tier tanks do not carry gold ammo, you have the element of surprise when dealing with them.
