Medium tanks are some of the most versatile vehicles in the game, made for deadly assaults, heavy support, or an impenetrable defense. These wonders come with a mix of the following 3 aspects, firepower, armor, and mobility. Used properly, they can devastate the enemy in a matter of minutes, with relatively few team casualties.

If you hate the weak armor and guns of light tanks, the sluggishness of heavy tanks, and the terrible agility of many tank destroyers, medium tanks are just for you! Medium tanks come in many parameters, depending on the Nation, Tier, and Tech Tree Branch. Some lines are focused on abundant armor, while other are focused on exceptional armament or marvelous mobility. Due to these differences, many mediums have specific uses in a battle. The German Leopard 1 line is a line to be played as an active scout, due to its paper-thin armor, fast speed, and impressive guns. The British Centurion 7/1 line is ideally played as an assault type, because of its incredible hull-down armor, fast-firing gun, but not so good mobility. Another example is the American M48 Patton line, wonderfully played as heavy support, as it lacks good armor and mobility, but it has a deadly arsenal of guns to choose from. These are only bits of advice, as using a medium for a different role is common. Although destructive, mediums usually travel in groups, where they are safe. Against a lone enemy heavy or tank destroyer, the medium is probably a winner, if the driver is able to utilize the strengths against the enemy. Likewise, mediums are not usually used as a spearhead, as most mediums lack the stats necessary to do so. Making sure the enemy does not see your weaknesses is vital to your survival, as once exposed, you are just an Oreo waiting to be eaten.

Understanding the battle situation is important to victory. If you see your team struggling against a line of tank destroyers, go and flank. If the battle is at a slow stalemate, go cap the base. If your team's heavies are dying out, go help them. Doing the right actions at the right time can get you a win.

With an assortment of different lines, you are guaranteed to find one with your play style, whether it be a big hitter, fast scout, or a medium-heavy.

On the mini-map and as an over-head marker, medium tanks appear as a red or green rhombus with one black dash through them at a 45 degree angle.
