Fans of ''Kagero'' will find that ''{{#var:ship_name}}'' offers them a slightly different, high-risk, high-reward playstyle.
?PERFORMANCE SECTION GUIDELINES+
?1. Write a brief intro paragraph of 1-3 sentences.+In all other aspects, ''{{#var:ship_name}}'' is identical to ''Kagero'': speed, handling, detection... even down to her mediocre main battery and nearly complete lack of an AA suite. The Japanese destroyer line becomes challenging to excel in at high tiers, but like ''Kagero'', ''{{#var:ship_name}}'' provides all the tools necessary for captains to do just that; they need only bring patience and a willingness to learn how to handle her.
?2. Write 1-3 paragraphs of "meat". Talk about what the ship does well, what it doesn't, how it compares to same tier ships of the same type, how it compares to the previous ship in the tech tree, whatever. Try to avoid quoting vital statistics to players unless it is really relevant (i.e. concealment); they can see those in the sidebar on the right and don't need them read back. +
?3. Write a brief summary paragraph of 1-3 sentences highlighting the key takeaways from the paragraphs above.+

?===History===+
? +
?====Design====+
? +
?The ''Kagerou''-class was a continuation from the ''Asashio''-class, although slightly enlarged in regards to their dimensions and their stability.+

?These ships were slightly larger than their predecessors, 118.5m long and 10.8m wide with a draft of 3.76m and a displacement of 2,600 tons which was ~100 tons above the ''Asashio''-class. Initial crew count was 240 men, though with the later modifications more were required to operate the anti-aircraft-armament.+==History==
 +===Design===
 +After the success of the ''Asashio''-class of destroyers were venerated in their proficiency and capability, the Imperial Japanese determined that their next two classes of Type A destroyers would be based of the work established by this design. The first of the Type A classes became the ''Kagero''-class destroyers. The design choices seemed justified, the ''Kagero''-class compared very favourably with their American contemporaries. The Japanese ships had a heavier main artillery setup; although the US mounts had the benefit of dual-purpose capability. As well, although American destroyers had more torpedo tubes, Japanese destroyers had the benefit of reloads.

?Operation three Kampon boilers, which would produce steam for two sets of turbines for a combined horsepower of 52,000 shp, these ships were capable of sailing with a speed of up to 35 knots. 500 tons of fuel oil would permit a cruising range of 5,000 nm at a speed of 18kn.+In order to streamline design time as much as possible, the ''Kagero''-class were nearly identical in hull design to their predecessors. Superficially, everything - even the superstructure layout - was identical to the ''Asashio''-class. Design-wise, one of the more noticeable differences was the placement of the torpedo storage rooms; in the ''Kagero''-class they were placed forward of their respective launchers. Propulsion wise, the new class used the same layout: 3 Kampon boilers feeding to two Kampon turbines. The greater efficiency of the newer boilers generated 2,000 shaft horsepower more than their predecessors, but this did not make any marked difference to the speed. Overall, the ''Kagero''-class had a slightly greater tonnage and a slightly wider beam; in order to improve stability.

?Armament-wise little was changed over the ''Asashio''-class, three turrets with each carrying two 127mm/50 guns with one turret on the bow, and two turrets superfiring on the rear deck. Four 25mm guns in two twin mounts were to ensure AA defense. Torpedo armament consisted of two quadruple launchers with a torpedo diameter of 61cm each, and in total eight torpedoes located in quick-loading sets behind or in front of the tubes. 36 depth charges with up to six throwers would be used against underwater threats.+As her predecessor, ''Kagero''-class destroyers reused the identical armament layout as the Special Type (''[[Fubuki]]''-class) destroyers. Six 127mm guns found in 3 twin-gun mounts; one forward and a super firing pair aft. ''Kagero''-class used the Type C turret mounts for their guns; which has the distinct disadvantage of not possessing the ability to angle high enough to engage aircraft, but they were fully enclosed and were lighter than previous mounts. Located amidships were the 2 quadruple-torpedo launchers in their enclosed mounts. each were provided with one reload each. For anti aircraft defence, the destroyers were armed with 25mm auto-cannons in single and dual mounts.

?As the war progressed, it became obvious that the light AA armament was utterly insufficient. Thus, in late 1943/early 1944 the surviving vessels of the class gave away their X-turret and the number of 25mm guns was gradually increased up until 24 guns in varying mountings, and up to four 13.2mm machine guns would be equipped in single mounts.+Throughout the Second World War, the ''Kagero''-class underwent constant service modifications. From late 1942 to 1943, further AA mounts were added, and the installed dual mounts were upgraded to triple mounts. From late 1943 to 1944, the X turret was removed to make more space for 25mm mounts. As well, many scuttles were welded over to increase hull integrity. As front-line ships, ''Kagero''-class received priority for radar installation. In early 1944 a radar room was built into the foremast with a No.22 radar set. Later in 1944 a No.13 set was installed in the aft mainmast.

?====Service====+In total, 19 destroyers of this class were built for the Imperial Japanese Navy; the first 15 ships proposed for the 1937 Naval shipbuilding programme, and the last 4 spilled into the 1939 programme.

Famously known as the "Fortune Ship" for her achievements in the Great War. She's arrogant and believes that all her success is due to her ability. Gets upset when ignored and left alone. There is a rivalry between her and Shigure, although neither is sure why this is the case. From the game Azur Lane.

Upgrades

The recommended upgrades for ' are as follows:

Commander Skills

Consumables

' can equip the following consumables:

Camouflage

As a premium ship, ' comes included with Type 10 camouflage that lowers her detection radius, reduces the accuracy of incoming shells, reduces her repair costs, and increases the amount of experience she earns.

Signals

AL Yukikaze captains should mount standard signal flags to improve the ship's performance in battle. Sierra Mike (+5% to the ship's maximum speed.) flags are highly recommended to increase the ship's top speed. November Foxtrot (-5% reload time on all consumables.) and India Yankee (-20% to fire duration.) flags should be mounted to improve the ship's survivability. Lastly, economic and special signal flags can be mounted to increase the ship's economic gains per battle.

Note: Use of the Juliet Charlie signal makes detonation impossible.
