Anchorage — American special premium Tier VIII cruiser.
Historically, U.S. Navy heavy cruisers were not armed with torpedo tubes—this put them in a vulnerable position, particularly when compared to Japanese cruisers equipped with 610 mm torpedoes. Had the CA-B heavy cruisers evolved to be equipped with torpedo armament, such a ship could have been armed with two 533 mm quadruple-tube torpedo launchers—one on each side.
Anchorage was first introduced on 1 September 2020.

Player Opinion
Pros:
- Anchorage is equipped with a main battery of 12 8inch (203mm) guns. Similar to the tier 9 Buffalo
- Unlike most U.S cruisers, she does have torpedoes, with a 10km range.
- Anchorage, unlike all other U.S cruisers (exception of Flint), and most other heavy cruisers, she has access to a long lasting Smoke Generator consumable.
- Like all other tier 8 U.S heavy cruisers. She has 27mm plating, allowing her to bounce 15 inch gun shells.
- Unlike most cruisers she has access to Spotting Aircraft consumable. Allowing her to engage further targets.
- Has access to Hydroacoustic Search
Cons:
- Unlike other high tiered U.S heavy cruisers she does not have super heavy shells.
- Unlike most U.S cruisers she doesn't have access to Defensive AA Fire consumable.
- Anchorage, like many U.S heavy cruisers, she has a short range.
- Unlike most U.S cruisers, her Anti-Air is lackluster.
- Anchorage, doesn't have access to Surveillance Radar consumable, Unlike her tier 8 sister Baltimore
