''Aurora'' (Russian: Авро́ра, tr. Avrora; IPA: [ɐˈvrorə]) is a 1900 Russian protected cruiser, currently preserved as a museum ship in St. Petersburg. ''Aurora'' was one of three ''Pallada''-class cruisers, built in St. Petersburg for service in the Pacific Far East. All three ships of this class served during the Russo-Japanese War. Aurora survived the Battle of Tsushima and was interned under U.S. protection in the Philippines, eventually returned to the Baltic Fleet. The second ship, ''Pallada'', was sunk by the Japanese at Port Arthur in 1904. The third ship, [[Ship:Diana|''Diana'']], was interned in Saigon after the Battle of the Yellow Sea. One of the first incidents of the October Revolution in Russia took place on the cruiser ''Aurora''. | ''Aurora'' (Russian: Авро́ра, tr. Aurora — Soviet premium Tier III cruiser.
The third ship of the Diana-class protected cruisers was laid down in 1896 at the New Admiralty Shipyard and entered service in 1903. Between 1904 and 1905, cruiser Aurora relocated to the Far East as part of the 2nd Pacific Squadron and participated in the Battle of Tsushima. After the Russo-Japanese war, Aurora returned to the Baltic and took part in the Battle of the Gulf of Riga during World War I. The cruiser defended Kronstadt during the Great Patriotic War. In 1945, Aurora was converted into the base of the Nakhimov Naval School, and she later became a museum ship.

Player Opinion
Performance
Aurora is a protected cruiser armed with multiple 152mm guns in casemates. The ship can be compared to the American St. Louis as both ships have similar layouts. While comparable in armor, Aurora suffers from having fewer hit points than St. Louis. Furthermore, the top speed of 20 knots makes Aurora one of the slower ships in her tier. Aurora is able to present a broadside of 8 guns at a time to the enemy with a range of 11.2 km. However, it should be noted that the shell arcs for this ship can be rather high.
Overall, Aurora is a workable ship for players looking for a low tier premium cruiser. However, its sluggish maneuverability and lackluster guns may frustrating for some players.
LittleWhiteMouse's Premium Ship Review: Aurora from the NA forums
Pros:
- Large number of guns on each broadside.
- Decent armor for Tier III.
- Slight edge in range (11.2 km) over counterparts.
Cons:
- Slow speed and sluggish acceleration.
- AP ammo rarely effective.
- Practically absent anti-aircraft suite.
- High shell arc and slow shell velocity.
