Dunkerque — French special premium Tier VI battleship.
After the signing of the Washington Naval Treaty, the design of ships of a new class began. In the early 1930s, a ship project was ready with eight 330 mm guns in two quadruple-gun turrets and a displacement of 26,500 tons. At the beginning of World War II, Dunkerque participated in patrol and escort operations, and then she was sent to the Mediterranean Sea. As a result of the attack on Mers-el-Kébir, the battlecruiser was heavily damaged and ran aground.

Player Opinion
Performance
Pros:
- Reliable frontal armor allows her to maximize her turret layout.
- Best-in-tier turret traverse speed.
- Good shell velocity and penetration.
- Excellent main battery range (second only to Fuso at Tier VI).
- Outstanding speed. Dunkerque is the fastest Tier VI battleship in the game.
- Good dispersion.
Cons:
- Large profile ensures most incoming rounds will find something to hit.
- With only two turrets, turret incapacitation or destruction is her worst nightmare.
- Poor rear armor.
- Very long rudder shift time makes her difficult to maneuver in tight quarters.
- Below average torpedo protection; every torpedo that hits home will hit hard.
- Underwhelming AA suite leaves her highly vulnerable to enemy aircraft.
