Signals

At Account Level 9, captains unlock the ability to fly signal flags on their ship that grant small bonuses. In order to equip signal flags, click the "Exterior" tab under the BATTLE! button in the top center of the screen, then select "SIGNALS" from the menu at left. This will display a list of available flags with quantities of each. Click on the desired flag, then press the "Mount" button. You can also choose to auto-resupply your flags, so that after each battle, another flag is automatically mounted on your ship. If you do not select this option, your ship will have no signal flags mounted when you return to port after your next battle.

A maximum of eight (8) signal flags can be flown simultaneously on battleships, cruisers and destroyers; carriers are limited to four (4) signal flags in a match. Signal flags are earned through a variety of in-game achievements — or purchased from the Premium Shop — and have varying effects per the table below. When earning flags via achievements, captains typically earn ten (10) flags once per twenty-four hour period per achievement. This twenty-four hour period resets at the same time the daily win bonus resets. One notable exception is the "Zulu" flag which awards one (1) flag per achievement.

For example: the first time each day that a captain earned the "Confederate" achievement, they would be awarded 10 "Zulu Hotel" flags. Additional "Confederate" achievements within the 24 hour window would not award additional flags.

Note: The Dragon Flag is currently the only signal flag to be obtained through an event, namely the World of Warships Birthday Event of 8 September 2016.

Flags

Flags differ from Signals in a couple of key ways. For starters, players are limited to displaying one (1) flag on their ship at a time. Additionally, flags do not have a limited number of charges; once awarded, players can equip that flag over and over again without losing it.Flags that have an effect are quite rare; Signals all serve a function of some kind, but Flags are largely cosmetic.

Flags are awarded from a variety of different sources, from in-game events, to special flags that are only available with certain ship bundles in the store, to contests or events on the regional forums.

	Hawaii	Reaching Rank 14 in the Third Season of Ranked Battles.	None.	The state flag of Hawaii. In 1889, the U.S. Navy established a naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. On 7 December 1941, the base was attacked by Japanese naval aviation and midget submarines, bringing the United States fully into World War II.
	Midway	Reaching Rank 14 in the Fourth Season of Ranked Battles.	None.	The Battle of Midway was a colossal naval battle that took place in June 1942 in the Pacfic theater of World War II. The decisive victory of the U.S. Navy over the Combined Fleet of Japan marked a turning point in the Pacific war.
	Wilhelmshaven	Reaching Rank 14 in the Fifth Season of Ranked Battles.	None.	Wilhelmshaven was Germany's largest naval base during World War I and II. The city was founded in 1869 by Prussian King Wilhelm I to serve as a base for the Prussian Navy, with a shipyard built in 1871. Until 1918, the base had been under the command of the Kaiser's Navy. From 1918 to 1935 and from 1935 to 1945, it was under the control of the Reichsmarine and Kriegsmarine, respectively.
