Flandre — French special premium Tier VIII battleship.

One of the projects developed in response to received intel about planned German battleships included the armament of three triple-gun turrets with 380 mm guns, and it was essentially a development of the Richelieu and Gascogne classes. That option was rejected, and the project that led to the creation of the Alsace-class battleship was selected as the final one.

Player Opinion

Pros:

Good main battery traverse speed
Good shell velocity and AP penetration
Good HE fire chance
Heavy secondary armament with good base range and firestarting capability
Largest hitpoint pool among Tier 8 battleships
Very good torpedo damage reduction
Powerful long-range (flak) AA defenses
Fast, with an unmodified top speed of 33.5 knots

Cons:

Worse than average main battery reload speed at 33 seconds
Very poor HE damage output
High AP penetration can lead to overpenetrations on lightly armored targets
Small gun caliber for a Tier 8 battleship, can struggle to damage well armored targets
Huge turn radius and slower than average rudder shift
Pitifully weak mid and short range AA, very vulnerable to plane attacks
Extensively covered in 32mm common plating, vulnerable to HE/SAP penetrations and AP overmatch
Lacks the Engine Boost  consumable
The Repair Party  consumable has one less charge than normal (three stock)

As a premium ship, Flandre doesn't have any upgrades to research.
