Francesco Caracciolo — Italian Tier VII battleship.
The 1913 fleet replenishment program provided for the construction of four high-speed battleships that were supposed to match the characteristics of British ships of the Queen Elizabeth class. Lead ship Francesco Caracciolo was laid down in 1914, but the construction was halted due to a lack of materials and a change in priorities.

Player Opinion
Pros:
- Has access to Semi-Armor Piercing main battery ammunition.
- Flat ballistics and fast shells, whi make aiming and leading very comfortable on this ship.
- Great turret angles and turret traverse.
- The best torpedo protection at tier 7.
- Excellent speed of 29 kts.
- Great concealment for a tier VII battleship; only Poltava is better by a few meters.
Cons:
- Small health pool for a tier VII battleship.
- Does not have access to High Explosive main battery ammunition.
- Slow main battery reload time of 33 seconds.
- Wonky dispersion of main battery salvos.
- Despite good armor protection, showing broadside will often result in citadels.
- 20 second rudder shift (Hull A).
- Even tho the AA values are decent, the lack of range on the AA will often fail to stop air strikes
- The 90mm suit which compromise the secondarie battery does not penetrate same tier destroyers, while the 152mm battery has a slow reload of 8s
Research
Recommended module research order:
- Hull (B) For maneuverability (only 4% more health). Research of this module unlocks progression to Vittorio Veneto.
- Gun Fire Control System: Upgrade to SDT 7 mod.2 for an extra 10% range on the main battery.
