Hizen — Japanese promo premium Tier IX battleship.

A variant of the "super battleship" design (project A-140-J3) that was the predecessor of the Yamato-class ships. It was planned for her to have twelve 410 mm guns in triple turrets as her main battery.

Pros:

  • Heavy broadside of twelve (12) main guns
  • Excellent main battery dispersion
  • Fairly good ship speed of 28.2 knots
  • Decent rudder shift and turn radius for a Tier 9 battleship
  • Decent concealment with all available upgrades

Cons:

  • Poor main battery firing range
  • Second worst main battery reload speed in its class - 38 seconds unmodified
  • Aft turrets have fairly bad firing angles
  • Despite the good dispersion, Hizen's main guns have subpar sigma (1.7)
  • Poor AP penetration, significantly worse than techtree counterpart Izumo
  • Extensively covered with 32mm plating, very vulnerable to HE spam
