Hizen — Japanese promo premium Tier IX battleship.

A variant of the "super battleship" design (project A-140-J3) that was the predecessor of the Yamato-class ships. It was planned for her to have twelve 410 mm guns in triple turrets as her main battery.

Player Opinion

Pros:

Heavy broadside of twelve (12) main guns
Excellent main battery dispersion
Decent rudder shift and turn radius for a Tier 9 battleship
Decent concealment with all available upgrades

Cons:

Main battery range is lacking
Second worst main battery reload speed in its class - 38 seconds unmodified
Aft turrets have fairly bad firing angles
Despite the good dispersion, Hizen's main guns have subpar sigma (1.7)
Significantly worse AP penetration than techtree counterpart Izumo
Extensively covered with 32mm plating, vulnerable to HE spam and 460/510mm AP overmatch
A maximum of four Repair Party () charges (three stock)
AA defenses are merely average, Hizen is vulnerable to all plane attacks
