Hizen — Japanese promo premium Tier IX battleship.

A variant of the "super battleship" design (project A-140-J3) that was the predecessor of the Yamato-class ships. It was planned for her to have twelve 410 mm guns in triple turrets as her main battery.

Player Opinion


Pros:

  • Heavy broadside of twelve (12) main guns.
  • Excellent main battery dispersion.
  • Great firing angles foward and backwards.
  • Combined with thick belt armor, this makes bouncing enemy shells while keeping all guns on a target easy.
  • Decent main battery range, comparable to Alsace.

Cons:

  • Second worst main battery reload speed in its class - 38 seconds unmodified.
  • Significantly worse AP penetration than techtree counterpart Izumo.
  • Extensively covered with 32mm plating.
  • A maximum of four Repair Party (While active, restores a percentage of the ship's health points each second.) charges (three stock)
  • Like Izumo, AA is nothing spectacular.

As a premium ship, Hizen doesn't have any upgrades to research.
