Lepanto — Italian Tier IX battleship.
The project for a battleship with a displacement of 42,000 tons was prepared by Italian engineers under an order from the U.S.S.R. The ship should have been equipped with nine 406 mm guns in three turrets. If such a ship had been built in Italy, she would have been ready by 1940 or 1941. Since the 406 mm gun was not developed in Italy, an increase in firepower would only be possible by increasing the number of guns per turret. Quadruple turrets with 381 mm guns were developed for battleship projects in the late 1910s and early 1920s.

Player Opinion
Pros:
- Has access to Italian SAP.
- Has access to Exhaust Smoke Generator that allows the ship to remain undetected at full speed.
- Large salvo of 12 guns.
- Fast turret traverse, equivalent to Sovetsky Soyuz.
- Shells have fast flight times, making it easy to lead.
- Top speed of 29.5 knots.
- Decent AA.
- Good side armor allows for bouncing enemy shells more effectively.
- Best in tier torpedo protection, only bested by Musashi.
Cons:
- Does not carry HE shells that other non-Italian battleships have.
- Long cool down time for Exhaust Smoke Generator .
- Slightly below average concealment for a tier IX battleship.
- Turret angles are a downgrade from Vittorio Veneto.
- Accuracy is comparable to Alsace, if not slightly worse.
- Like Alsace, she has 381mm guns, which will start to lose their effectiveness when dealing with bow in targets, especially cruisers with 27mm of protection.
- Most of the good AA is short ranged.
- Long reload of 37s, only 3s shy of Minnesota.
- Firing range is one of the lowest for tier IX battleships, lower than Sovetsky Soyuz; although she has Spotting Aircraft to compensate.
- Low healthpool, comparable to Alsace.
