Loyang — Pan-Asian premium Tier VIII destroyer.
USS Benson, the lead ship of her class, was built at the Fore River Shipyard. In 1940 and 1941, she served in so-called Neutrality Patrols. Once the U.S. entered World War II, USS Benson escorted convoys in the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean and supported the landings of the Allied forces in Italy. In 1945, the ship was transferred to the Pacific, where she escorted American aircraft carriers during operations against Midway Atoll. For her service during the war, she was awarded four battle stars. In 1954, she was handed over to the Republic of China, where she was renamed Loyang.
During the Chinese New Year sales, Lo Yang, along with Anshan was available for purchase.

Player Opinion
Performance
By any form, the Lo Yang is practically a Benson in Taiwanese hands but she comes with two nasty surprises: you can forego speed boost for hydroacoustic radar or defensive AA fire, as well as a alternate set of faster swimming yet shorter ranged torpedoes. A dynamic premium, Lo Yang can give you the edge you need with any selection of play style, from attempting to surprise the enemy with torpedoes, making them shake in their boots in your near-suicidal torpedo run or even forcing other destroyers into a melee, she will serve you well provided that you are well versed in how her original US counterpart handles.
The concealment module is a mandatory for this ship.Pros:
- Fast turret traverse
- Has the hydroacoustic radar consumable which turns the destroyer into a bloodhound
- Defensive AA fire as a option
- Two torpedo loadout options
- Good rudder shift
- Impressive ergonomics
- if one is well-versed in the US Benson, they can perform well in this destroyer
Cons:
- Torpedoes may give you a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" feeling; the default torpedo has a reach of 9.2km at 55 knots which is the Benson's top torpedo whereas the improved torpedo has 68 knots but has a short range of 6km requiring you to charge into near-suicide ranges for a torpedo run
- Hydroacoustic radar is in the same slot as speed boost so you need to choose wisely
- Like its premium colleague the Warspite, the ship is not good for captain cross-class training other than for her fellow Pan-Asia destroyer colleague the Anshan
- literally a fully upgraded Benson bearing the Taiwanese ensign
