Longjiang — Pan-Asian Tier II destroyer.
In 1913, this destroyer was ordered from Germany in order to arm the Republic of China with up-to-date ships. She was never built, but her design formed the basis for German V-25 destroyers.

Player Opinion
Performance
For Captains acquainted with the German Destroyer line, Longjiang (龍江, lit. "Dragon River") will feel very familiar to V25; many aspects of this oriental Hochsee-torpedoboote (ocean-going torpedo boat) will mirror her German cousin, but she is not an identical vessel.
The primary weapon for this vessel is her Deep-Water Torpedoes (DWT), used to combat against enemy capital ships – Cruisers, Battleships, and Carriers. Compared to her German equivalent, she can release 4 fish every 32 seconds, which can run up to a distance of 8km. In conjunction with her superior concealment of 5.4km and superior speed of 36 knots, her primary task will be to hunt down isolated and/or unaware warships, surprising them with volleys of torpedoes from a safe distance. With a default torpedo speeds of 49 knots, they are relatively feasible to dodge, so crafty captains will offset this by using islands to close the engagement distances to their targets, or choose targets that are preoccupied fighting other allied ships.
Her artillery on the other hand is situational; seen as a supplementary to her torpedo armament. Despite the superior fire-rate of 15 shots/min, the high shell arcs and average shell velocity make for overall mediocre performance. These should not be used for any primary damage dealing – other than to attempt fire starting via HE – and have the most use in self-defence.
But note, unlike V25, she does not have forward firing torpedo tubes: therefore no opportunities to engage in “torpedo-jousting” tactics favoured by V25 captains. More importantly, her DWT do not work against destroyers. Unless in situations that favour Longjiang, it is imperative to avoid combat with enemy destroyers, as she is inherently handicapped and overall very fragile. If destroyer encounters are unavoidable, captains should consider sticking close to allied ships in order to ensure an advantageous situation.
In summary, Longjiang provides captains with a user-friendly platform to familiarize themselves with DWT before they progress further up the Pan-Asian Destroyer line.Pros:
- Tied for lowest detection range of all ships in game.
- Tied for highest speed of all Tier II DDs.
- Can fire torpedoes while undetected.
- Torpedoes have the largest range of all Tier II DDs.
- Tied for fastest artillery fire rate of all Tier II DDs.
- Highly manoeuvrable.
Cons:
- Tied for lowest hit-points of all Tier II DDs.
- Average turret traverse.
- Average torpedo reload rate.
- High shell arcs.
- Does not retain the forward torpedo tubes of V25
- Deep-Water Torpedoes are ineffective against Destroyers
Research
Availability of researchable upgrades for Longjiang is as follows:
- Hull: Upgrade to Hull B for increase in hit-points and decrease in rudder-shift time.
- Gun Fire Control System: Upgrade to FKS Type 2 Mod. 2 for increase in range.
Phra Ruang becomes available to research once all Hull upgrades are unlocked.
Optimal Configuration
Upgrades
As a Tier II Destroyer, Longjiang only has access to Modification Slot 1; the options are presented above.
The recommended upgrades for Longjiang are as follows:
- Slot 1: Main Armaments Modification 1*
Main Armaments Modification 1 will mitigate the chance of torpedo tubes being incapacitated in combat.
Commander Skills
Captains are recommended to focus on two key aspects when selecting commander skills for Longjiang: increasing her survivability or increasing her torpedo potency. She is a fragile vessel with low HP and easily damaged modules, so any boost to her damage mitigation will prove beneficial. On the other hand, Longjiang has the ability to trade torpedo distance for speed, and increase reload times; all in favour of increasing DPM done by torpedoes.

Consumables
Longjiang can equip the following consumables:
- Slot 1: Damage Control Party
- Slot 2: Smoke Generator
- Slot 3: Engine Boost
It is recommended for Captains to take the premium Damage Control Party II () in order to have more opportunities to repair damaged modules.
Camouflage
Type 1, 2, or 5 camouflage can be equipped for credits; It is recommended to use Type 1 or Type 5 camouflage in order to decrease detectability range.
Players who wish to spend doubloons can equip Longjiang with Type 6 camouflage that lowers her detection radius, reduces the accuracy of incoming shells, and increases the amount of experience she earns.
Signals
Combat signals will be the ones most frequently mounted; It is recommended to focus on speed, and armament.
