Mighty Prinz

The "Mighty Prinz" campaign is the first premium ship exclusive campaign introduced into World of Warships - players must have Prinz Eitel Friedrich in order to have access to this campaign. Additionally, the campaign requires players to specifically have five other Tier VI ships for the first task of each mission in order to complete each task, namely Hatsuharu, Nürnberg, Icarus, Dallas, and Normandie. However, the final task of each mission, excluding the final mission, will reward the player with the ship specified in the first task of the following mission along with a permanent New Year camouflage; i.e. Task 1 of Mission 2 requires Hatsuharu to complete and the final task of Mission 1 rewards the player with Hatsuharu and a New Year camo for her.

On May 1, 1915, the shipyard of Blohm and Voss in the city of Hamburg saw the laying down of a ship that would be named in honor of Prince Eitel Friedrich of Prussia, the son of Emperor Wilhelm II of Germany. Prinz Eitel Friedrich, a Mackensen-class battlecruiser, was supposed to be one of the most powerful ships of the Imperial Navy (the Kaiserliche Marine). The project that served as the basis for the ship was developed before World War I, the war that put an end to the empire itself, as well as to the entire "Belle Époque". The project would never be completed.

The third task of each mission is generally much more time-consuming than the first and second tasks, which means that players that wish to complete the campaign purely through playing Co-Op battles will face a long and arduous journey to achieve the special Sincerely and Firmly permanent camouflage for Prinz Eitel Friedrich.

Mission 1

Imperial Japanese Navy destroyer Hatsuharu (Japanese for "Early Spring"), the leader of a series of six ships, was commissioned on September 30, 1933, and laid down at the Naval Arsenal shipyard in the city of Sasebo in May, 1931. Her service record during World War II included the invasion of the Dutch East Indies, activities off the Aleutian Islands, and the Battle of Leyte Gulf, amongst other operations. The destroyer sank on November 12, 1944, after being bombed by American aircraft during her breakthrough from Manila Bay.

Mission 2

The Kriegsmarine's light cruiser Nürnberg, named after the ship sunk during World War I, was laid down in December 1933 in the city of Kiel. In early 1936, some time after being commissioned, she became the flagship of the German Naval Intelligence Service. During World War II, she took part in operations in the North Sea, as well as in Norwegian waters and the Baltic. After the war, she was handed over to the Soviet Navy and renamed Admiral Makarov.

Mission 3

Royal Navy destroyer Icarus, named after a character from ancient Greek mythology, was laid down in March 1936, in Clydebank, Scotland. The operational record of the ship during World War II was one of the most intense amongst all British destroyers. Icarus took part in numerous convoy operations in the Atlantic, Arctic, and Mediterranean, in combat operations in Norwegian waters, and in the Dunkirk evacuation and Normandy landings. The war veteran was removed from the fleet lists in 1946.

Mission 4

Light cruiser Dallas was modeled in World of Warships based on Project 1934, developed by the Bureau of Construction and Repair of the U.S. Navy in late 1934. The new ships inherited many of the elements of the Brooklyn-class cruisers that were prepared for laying down at the time, but had a lower displacement due to restrictions imposed by the 1930 London Maritime Conference. Eventually, U.S. Navy Command abandoned the idea of building a small cruiser, and, having found a loophole in the contract, built two 10,000 ton ships instead — USS Helena and USS St. Louis — the full-fledged products of the evolution of the Brooklyn class.

Mission 5

French Navy battleship Normandie, named after the province in the north of France, was laid down on April 18, 1913, at a shipyard in the city of Saint-Nazaire. The unique feature of having four-gun main turrets was supposed to be the highlight of this super dreadnought. the ship's hull was put afload in October 1914, but World War I, which was gaining momentum at the time, prevented the continuation of her construction. After the war was over, French Navy Command considered various options for completing the Normandie-class battleships, including potential modernization that would take their recent battle experience into account, but they eventually abandoned this idea at the end of 1919.

Mission 6

Mackensen-class battlecruisers, Prinz Eitel Friedrich being one of them, were giant monsters indeed, weighing in at 31,000 tons. Capable of speeds up to 28 knots, and wielding 300 mm-thick armor, their main armament was intended to consist of eight specially designed 350 mm guns with ammunition weighing 600kg. At the time when all four ships of the series were being laid down in 1915, there was no country in the world with such powerful and fast ships.
