Paolo Emilio — Italian special premium Tier IX destroyer.
After the beginning of naval cooperation between Italy and the U.S.S.R., the Ansaldo company prepared a number of ship designs under Soviet orders. An armored scout with a standard displacement of 3,700 tons was among them. The ship had high speed, eight 130 mm guns in four mounts, and armor protection in the form of a full-fledged armored belt and armored deck.
Paolo Emilio was first released for sale on 30 Sep 2020.

Player Opinion
Pros:
- Good main battery ballistics - high shell velocity and flat arcs
- Has access to both SAP and HE shells
- Heavy torpedo armament of three quadruple launchers with high damage and flood chance, and good speed
- Has a 60mm thick armor belt, can shatter most HE shells and, with the right angling, bounce AP shells
- Very high ship speed, aided by a unique Emergency Engine Power consumable
- Uses the Exhaust Smoke Generator found on Italian cruisers, can stay hidden even at full speed
- Second largest healthpool in its class, only bested by Harugumo
Cons:
- Very poor main battery rate of fire
- Short main battery range
- Does not have access to AP shells
- Torpedoes are short-ranged and have a slow reload speed
- Fairly weak AA defenses, vulnerable to plane attacks
- Large turn radius and sluggish rudder shift
- Both Exhaust Smoke Generator and Emergency Engine Power have short duration and long cooldown
