Pommern — German special premium Tier IX battleship.

When designing the H-class battleship, the main requirement was for her firepower to surpass that of all counterparts anywhere in the world. Despite Germany's pledge to adhere to the Washington Naval Treaty, the nation's leadership insisted on using the 420 mm caliber. Alternatives included using the 406 mm caliber (which would have taken much longer for Germany to develop) or increasing the number of 380 mm guns to twelve (placed in four triple-gun turrets).

Player Opinion


Pros:

  • Heavy broadside with twelve 380mm guns
  • Lots of distributed armor make Pommern durable against high explosive shells and against overmatch from ships like Yamato
  • Access to the Hydroacoustic Search While active, detects all enemy ships and torpedoes within the specified radius, without regard of obstacles such as smoke and terrain. consumable for increased warning against torpedoes
