HMS ''Queen Elizabeth'' was the lead ship of her class of dreadnought battleships built for the Royal Navy in the early 1910s, and was often used as a flagship. She served in World War I as part of the Grand Fleet, and participated in the inconclusive Action of 19 August. Her service during the war generally consisted of routine patrols and training in the North Sea. She and the other super-dreadnought battleships were the first of their type to be powered by oil instead of coal. ''Queen Elizabeth'' later served in several theatres during World War II, and was ultimately scrapped in 1948. HMS ''Queen Elizabeth'' was the lead ship of her class of dreadnought battleships built for the Royal Navy in the early 1910s, and was often used as a flagship. Player Opinion

Performance

Players who own Warspite (a Queen Elizabeth class battleship) or Bayern will find Queen Elizabeth to be familiar territory. She possesses adequate speed for her tier, has strong armor and hard-hitting, accurate guns with good firing angles. Her ability to overmatch the common armor plate of all existing battleships through Tier VII is a notable advantage. She does not suffer nearly as much from the need to plan based upon the battle situation as New Mexico or Fuso. Players will find Queen Elizabeth to be as dominant as Warspite in same-tier matches and entirely capable in mid-tier matches. While she can struggle as a bottom tier ship, she's no less capable than any other Tier VI battleship.

Pros:

  • Powerful guns.
  • High main battery accuracy.
  • Extended armor belt.
  • Good maneuverability.
  • Good detection ranges.

Cons:

  • Mediocre anti-aircraft armament.
  • Underwhelming torpedo protection.
  • Mediocre main battery range.
  • Large, vulnerable superstructure.

Research

Queen Elizabeth is somewhat unique as the preferred research priority depends very much on personal play style. There is no upgrade which provides an obvious advantage over the other choices. Players who prize maneuverability will want to research the engine upgrade first, those who prefer the ability to hit targets at range will choose the fire control system, and those who value anti-aircraft protection and survivability will choose the hull.

Optimal Configuration

Upgrades

Queen Elizabeth is capable of mounting upgrades in slots 1, 2, 4, and 5. There exists no obvious optimal configuration, and she will provide clear rewards regardless of how the player chooses to customize her. Players who prefer to build their battleships for secondary battery performance should remember the accuracy bonus for Manual Fire Control for Secondary Armament is a 15% reduction in dispersion at Tier VI, not the 70% available at Tier VII.

Commander Skills

Consumables

Priority for premium consumable use should be Damage Control Party, then Repair Party.

Camouflage

The permanent camouflage for Queen Elizabeth is one of the most attractive which exists in the game. It is a standard Type 16.

Signals

Economic signals are left to the discretion of the player. The following is a basic summary of all signals which provide a combat bonus.

Note: Use of the Juliet Charlie signal makes detonation impossible.
