T-22 — German Tier V destroyer.
In the 1920s, several series of destroyers were built for the Reichsmarine. The first of them were, in fact, improved versions of destroyers that dated back to the times of World War I. Their further development came in the form of Type 39, which was built as a multipurpose ship with a smaller displacement. A total of 15 ships were built, with lead ship T-22 entering service in February 1942. In 1942 and 1943, the ship participated in patrol operations in the Bay of Biscay and the Battle of Sept-Îles, where she sank HMS Limbourne. In June 1944, she was transferred to the Baltic. Later, in August, the ship struck mines in Narva Bay and sank.

Player Opinion
Performance
A poorly-recieved Tier V destroyer, the T-22 sits in an uncomfortable position between the small forward-firing torpedo-armed "jousting" ships of the previous tiers and the stouter Hydroacoustic Search-equipped ships of the following tiers.
While she has a great rate of fire on paper as well as 360-degree turrets, the effectiveness of her guns is hampered by mediocre traverse speed and low per-shell damage---but above all, absolutely horrendous ballistics that make even American destroyers look good. Her slow speed, poor smoke, and only middling concealment and maneuverability are not points in her favor either.
Her torpedoes are at least fairly good in all respects: reload, range, speed, damage, and stealth. They must be relied upon to overcome the T-22s long list of shortcomings.Pros:
- Tied with the Nicholas for fastest rate of fire of all Tier V destroyers.
- All turrets can rotate 360 degrees.
- Torpedoes are fairly good in all respects.
Cons:
- Slowest Tier V destroyer.
- Loses forward firing torpedo tubes her predecessors had.
- Horrendous ballistics, especially at range.
- Very short smokescreen duration limits offensive smoking ability.

Upgrades
Main Battery Modification 1 and Propulsion Modification 1 are the top picks for Upgrade Slot 1 and Upgrade Slot 4. T-22 gains access to Upgrade Slot 2, which offers two decent options: Aiming Systems Modification 1 and Main Battery Modification 2. The former is recommended if playing T-22 without a captain who has Basic Firing Training and Expert Marksman as commander skills; otherwise, the latter is a better option as the penalty to her reload time is barely noticeable (while the buff to her turret traverse is quite noteworthy).
Commander Skills
Low-tier German DDs need skills that allow them to survive longer. Priority Target, Preventative Maintenance, High Alert, Last Stand, Vigilance, Survivability Expert, Concealment Expert, and Advanced Firing Training will all help in this regard.

Consumables
Players can equip the following consumables on this destroyer: Damage Control Party, Smoke Generator, and Engine Boost.
Camouflage
Type 1, 2, or 5 camouflage can be equipped for credits; Types 1 or 5 are recommended at a minimum to reduce detectibility range.
Signals
The choice of which Signal Flags to mount will confer to the individual preference of each captain, and are subject to great variation, although there are certain flags which suit Destroyer gameplay better. Captains should mount India Yankee to decrease time to extinguish fires, mount November Foxtrot to decrease reload time of consumables, and mount Sierra Mike to increase the ship's maximum speed. To make their torpedoes more potent, captains should mount Juliet Whisky Unaone to increase chance of causing flooding and Juliet Charlie to mitigate risk to magazine detonation from mounting the former flag. If captains wish to buff their primary artillery, they are encouraged to mount Victor Lima + India X-ray to increase fire chance to HE shells.Gallery
