*Now research the 75mm M3L/37. It's still pretty inaccurate and slow to fire compared to the 6pdr, along with having weaker penetration, but it's much better than the 75mm M2. In terms of effectiveness it's roughly equal to the 6pdr, but it does let you use HE rounds, which is always helpful when you find yourself facing Tier VI and VII heavies. However, it will also add roughly 1000kg (1 ton) to your tank's weight, which will slow you down a bit. In the end, it's up to you whether to stick with the 6pdr or get the M3L/37. | *Now research the 75mm M3L/37. *Finally, research the SCR 528. The 9000xp and 54,000 credits required to get it can be a painful grind, but once you have it you'll have better radio range than any other Tier V medium. Also, this is the top radio for the M7 Priest, the Chaffee, the Tier VII and VIII American heavy tanks and the Tier VIII and IX American medium tanks and tank destroyers. You'll thank yourself for unlocking it early once you get up to the higher tiers. | *Finally, research the SCR 528. The M7 is an American tier 5 light tank.
Development started in 1941. Initially, the vehicle was developed as a light tank; however, as the model gradually received extra armor and armaments, it was reclassified as a medium tank. Production of the M7 started by the fall of 1942. However, since the M7 was inferior to the mass-produced M4 Sherman in all parameters except speed and dimensions, the production was stopped. A total of 7 vehicles were produced.
It is extremely fast and maneuverable, but has extremely thin armor and poor firepower. However, the lack of firepower is offset by an extremely fast rate of fire, so proper use of the M7 will employ all of the tanks strengths; high rate of fire, speed, and mobility. If exposed to enemy fire, the M7 can be destroyed rather quickly, so caution must be taken when engaging the enemy. The M7 is an excellent tank to have in a wolf pack, letting the sturdier medium tanks take the shots while the M7 flanks, keeping the enemy tracked or inflicting steady damage to the target.
The M7 marks the end of its American light line.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Good mobility
- Fast rate of fire
- Good damage and penetration
Cons:
- Poor armor
- Front armor thinner than any other Tier V medium
- Low HP
Performance
The abysmal armor for a medium tank means that you will have to resort to guerrilla tactics, because a frontal assault is not an option under almost any condition. Flanking, stealth, using cover and situational awareness become paramount if you aim to be succesful, because even lower-tier tanks are a serious threat to you. However, if you manage to stay alive, the high maneuverability and speed of this tank will let you relocate, flank and do evasive maneuvers with ease, bringing your devastating weapons to bear. The good guns and their high rates of fire combined with flanking maneuvers mean that enemies will receive a non-stop hail of fire into their rear armor to which most will succumb.
Early Research
- You desperately need to upgrade your firepower, by Tier V the 37mm M-6 is hopelessly obsolete. Research the 6-pounder as soon as possible, it will give you a much-needed boost in penetrating power and damage.
- A slow, thinly-armored tank is a dead tank. However, a FAST thinly-armored tank has a much better chance of survival. Therefore, you should upgrade your engine to at least the 380hp one. However, to REALLY improve your tank's acceleration, you should spend the time and xp to research the 460hp top engine. Once the engine is fully upgraded, the M7 has the fastest acceleration of any Tier V medium, except for the PzIII/IV.
- Next, research the upgraded turret. It turns 2 degrees/sec slower than the stock turret, but gives you a much better view range, adds 50 hit points to your tank along with 6mm more armor to the turret's sides and rear, and even shaves 200kg off of your tank's weight. (Allowing you to mount some equipment if you choose, and giving you slightly better acceleration.)
- Upgrade your radio to the SCR 538 next. 480m isn't a GREAT radio range, but it's much better than your stock radio. Also, it's the top radio for the T1HT and M6, so if you're going down the American heavy line, you'll already have the top radio for the first two tanks unlocked. Yay!
- Upgrade your tracks next, they'll make you a little more nimble and you'll need the extra weight capacity to mount the big guns.
- Now research the 75mm M2. Personally, I would stick with the 6pdr for now; the M2 is far less accurate and its penetration is much weaker than the 6pdr.
- Now research the 75mm M3L/37.
- Finally, research the SCR 528.
