The M46 Patton KR is an American tier 8 premium medium tank.
The first M46 tanks that landed in Korea belonged to the 6th Medium Tank Battalion. The vehicles, known as “Ripper Pattons”, were later allocated to the 8th Army and used by infantry forces as support vehicles. However, in 1950 and 1951, the M46 also saw action in several tank battles. By June 1951, the front line had stabilized and the mobile stage of combat action had finished, so the army started to use the vehicles in an artillery role. Along with other U.S. tanks that fought in Korea, M46 tanks were painted with "Tiger Face" markings.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Good acceleration - easily reaches and keeps its top speed
- Excellent on-the-move dispersion modifiers, snap shots are likely to hit
- Very high ammo capacity
- Decent AP penetration, 192 vs 190 on the M26 Pershing
- Good credit earner with inexpensive AP rounds (Only 255 cr)
Cons:
- Gun mantlet is not as large as the M26 Pershing's, and blocks fewer shots
- 853 m/s AP shell velocity makes sniping difficult
- Worse aiming time and accuracy makes long range engagements tedious and costly
- Less APCR penetration than the M26 Pershing's 90 mm T15E2M2 gun (243 vs 268 mm)
Performance
The M46 Patton KR basically is a stock Tier IX Patton and as such has more in common with it than with the Pershing which causes some minor differences in playstyle. With your great gun handling you should look for quick snap shots and focus more on a "peek-a-boo" fighting technique instead of playing the hull down defender. Your turret armor, while being not bad, most of the time simply isn't enough to bounce off incoming shells (ignoring the occasional bounce of course).
Comparing it directly to the M26 Pershing (which also makes more sense since both vehicles are American Tier VIII medium tanks) the M46 Patton KR is more mobile at the expense of accuracy and aiming time. Nonetheless the gun has -10° of depression allowing you to abuse terrain as you like, so American medium tank players will feel right at home. Your good P/W-ratio of 18.41 hp/ton also allows for quick acceleration, combined with a very decent forward top speed (48.3 km/h) and excellent reverse speed (20 km/h!) the overall mobility synergizes extremely well with a peek-a-boo snap shot playstyle. Despite the abysmal terrain resistance values the acceleration is surprisingly good.
