?|The ARL V39 requires patience to come into play, as it doesnt have the armor to withstand frontal shots, but instead gains superior mobility than its predecessors, the gun traverse may seem a downgrade a first coming from the magnificent S-35CA, but instead it gains better gun handling and reload to compensate.+

?A good strategy for this tank is to see where the main Force is heading and either assist them from a reasonable distance or by selecting a defensive position and wait for a prey, the ARL V39 doesnt have puncturing accuracy, but it can use the well Proven and powerful 105mm ''Canone'' from the S-35CA or the 90mm DCA-45CA with the best gun penetration values for its tier and adequate accuracy.+

?Although this tank may seem nice with statistics, it unfortunately isn't until it has been fully researched. You should have the 105 and the short 90 from the [[S-35 CA]], and a gun from the Somua. If you don't have both of these, you'll want to get them from the S-35 CA. You can't equip either of these guns until you have researched the suspension for a bit over 5000 EXP, and you'll be doing so with the stock tier 3 gun.+

?Many players prefer the 105mm Cannon over the DCA-45 as the accuracy with the french tanks isnt that great, the 105mm can deliver high alpha damage whle the DCA-45 alpha can seem insufficient and rather picky at critical times.+

?Get the suspension, as you can't mount anything without it. If you can't you'll be stuck with the stock tier 3 gun for about 5k EXP.+
?Get the next tank, or get the long 90 mm first.+

?In the mid of 1935 France started the development of the new assault self propelled gun. Two companies responded with their suggestions. Somua (Société d'Outillage Usinage Mécanique et d'd 'Artillerie) started the work on a project that was to become Somua SAU S40, and ARL (Atelier de Construction de Rueil0 was developing ARL 39V prototype.+

?ARL 39. Hevily relied on the parts developed and used by the Char B1 tank. Frontal armor had maximum armor thickness of 50 mm. Main armament was 75 mm APX gun, a modification of the model 1292 de Casemate gun originally developed for fortifications. Gun had a semi-automatic breech, automatic charging machine and very odd an unusual feature. It’s main gun could be retracted inside the hull to decrease the vehicle length. Secondary equipment was consisted of 7.5 mm caliber machinegun placed in the small turret on the roof. A similar configuration as with the competing Somua SAU-40 project. The development was officially finished in 1938, and army field trials were conducted between 23 – 25 march 1939. The army was satisfied with the performance of the new vehicle approved the start of the serial production. Numbers vary from source to source, but apparently between 72 and 80 vehicles were ordered in the first series, together with 24 command vehicles. Fall of France stopped all production plans, and only two prototype vehicles were built. Both of them were evacuated to Marocco, but their fate remained a mystery. +
