The 121 is a Chinese tier 10 medium tank.
Development of a new medium tank based on the Type 59 began in 1962. The new tank was expected to feature improvements in firepower and armor protection. However, the project was canceled shortly after. Some technical innovations were applied later, in the development of the Type 69 tank. All 121 tank prototypes were destroyed during Chinese nuclear weapon testing.
The 121 marks the end of its Chinese medium line.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Powerful and accurate gun
- Highest alpha damage of any tier 10 medium
- Great traverse and turret traverse speed
- Better rate of fire, accuracy and penetration than the 113, the tier 10 alternative in the Chinese tree
- In addition to the above it has the same damage as the 113
Cons:
- Bad maneuverability and speed for a medium
- Very bad gun depression, which in turn makes you have to expose most of your tank to fire over hills
- Low weight, making ramming unreliable
- Poor elevation
- Lower frontal plate is very weak
Performance
It performs similar to the T-62A from the Russian medium tree but with significantly greater firepower in exchange for being slower. For a medium, it's not very fast, only usually reaching its top speed on flat ground or going downhill, but is has very good armor. In fact, it has the same hull armor and slope as the 113 heavy tank, giving it an armored edge of the T-62A. The gun on this tank is very good, having both the damage comparable to T10 heavies as well as good accuracy, decent rate of fire, and great penetration. Because the armor is easily penetrated by most tanks at this tier, it is best played in the supporting role, since its speed does not allow it to flank easily. Stay with your teammates and never go alone as the poor movement speed makes this tank easy to hunt down on its own.
