The WZ-132-1 is a Chinese tier 10 light tank.
The Chinese experimental vehicle that united various Type 62 modernization projects. The name is conventional. No prototypes were built.
The ideal "Light Mediums" in World of Tanks, it has quite reasonable protection (arguably the best among the rank of LT's) thanks to very tough turret and all-around spaced armor to effectively protect it from HEAT and HESH rounds. This tank is excelled at fire supporting role, as well as taking some punishment with its turret armor before retreating.
The WZ-132-1 marks the end of its Chinese light line.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Very strong turret armor, can making use of some cover and bouncing several incoming shots with reliability
- Side skirt and "cage" around the turret can protect against HEAT and HESH shots effectively
- Great acceleration and speed
- Fast turret traverse speed and overall agility, good at snapshots
- Small silhouette with decent camo values
Cons:
- Hull armor is quite poor
- Horrible gun depression and awful accuracy
- Modules often get damaged
- Somewhat uncompetitive gun after the Sheridan and AMX 13 105 also received 390 alpha damage (though they have their own flaws in other aspects)
Performance
Being one of the only two light tanks in tier X capacable of bouncing shots (the other being the T-100 LT), the WZ-132-1 had strenght in its own right.
With 200mm thick rounded turret, it can bounce many shots from enemies (including some from the biggest gun). Unfortunately, its weak hull negated its effectiveness as a brawler, as most shots will hit its weak hull rather than strong turret. On top of that, due to its poor gun depression, it cannot execute hull down position, thus limit the usage of its turret to a merely safety precaution in most cases.
The gun, while inaccurate, had decent aiming time and alpha damage. This can be effective especially when you can find a cover to covering your weak hull, or fighting at close range with peek-a-boo tactics; where you can put the turret armor to a good use.
In most aspects, the WZ-132-1 is a hybrid of a medium tank and light tank, and capacable of fulfiling a role from both class; find a cover, dish out a damage, or spotting and scouting. You should always remember that the WZ-132-1 is a light tank, you should keep moving when you feel unsafe, or you'll became to an easy target to SPGs and tanks with big guns.

Historical Accuracy Errata
It should be noted that the tank known as WZ-132-1 in-game is not a variant of the WZ-132 tank, as it was deemed too technical to produce, but rather a late model of a modernised Type 62 variant known as Type 62-I or WZ-131A.
- The first Type 62s to be armed with the 105 mm L7 was in 2000. This variant, which had a welded flat-plate turret incorporating an improved spaced and possibly composite armor with four smoke grenade dischargers on each side, was known as the Type 62G. The 105 mm gun configuration on the WZ-132-1 is fake.
- Historical 85 mm 64-85T gun is missing.
