|The first heavy tank in the Entwicklung series. It has very thick sloped armor, rivaling that of the ST-I, but with one great advantage; it doesn't have the frontal viewport weakspot. Stock it is armed with the inadequate 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71, but can also use the 10.5 cm KwK 46 L/68 from the Tiger II so make sure to research it before using the E-75, unless you want a terrible grind. Eventually, you will have access to the very powerful 12.8 cm KwK 44 L/55 that packs a sizable punch up close or afar. The E-75 can be used for multiple roles due to its immense armor and great weaponry. Of the tier 9 and 10 heavies the E-75 is one of the slowest, with only the Maus having a slower top end speed. The E-75 has sluggish turret and hull traverse speed, making it difficult to move around. While the E-75 is one of the easier tanks to flank, it is still harder to damage once flanked thanks to its relatively thick side armor. Traversing your hull along with your turret helps you keep up with enemies better if they get too close. | |The first heavy tank in the Entwicklung series. Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Strong upper frontal armor and excellent whole frontal turret armor
- Reasonable gun depression for a German heavy, on par with the M103 and T110E5
- The large weight of 91.5t makes it good for ramming
- Excellent sloped armor
- Very strong, flat side armor perfect for sidescraping
Cons:
- Very slow reload on the top gun compared to similar guns to its tier
- Tall silhouette
- A marked tendency to receive critical hits to the internal modules and crew
- The observation devices tend to get damaged easily
- Strong inertia - being tracked while moving at high speed will rotate it almost 90°
Performance
With strong armor, a powerful gun, and decent maneuverability for its size, the E-75 is a highly capable tank. Many say it's what the Tiger II would be if it was tier 9.
The tank has a very high silhouette, so don't expect to do much hiding. The ammunition is very expensive (aim carefully before each shot), and most importantly, the turret rotates very slowly. Most any medium tank can out-circle it.
However, in the top tier, E-75 is a perfectly balanced machine, whose presence in the list should make any opponent nervous. The E-75 used to have a rear-mounted transmission, however it was moved to the front in one of the patches, so it will still suffer engine damage and fire from frontal hits. However it is still less prone to these than other German heavies due to relatively armored frontal plate, preventing penetrations in the first place.
Despite the low (but standard for the Germans) maximum speed of 30 kph, it is nevertheless quite frisky. Low top speed and hull rotation stats are made up for by brute horsepower, with the 1,200 HP top engine giving it respectable acceleration and turning. All the guns for the tank have good accuracy and fire rapidly.
The main tactic is sniping from a distance. The tank is very sensitive to the splash damage from artillery, not to mention a direct hit. It would be very useful to have the E-100's screens, but in their absence, this tank must rely on agility and engine power. Effectively, this tank is roughly on par with the IS-4.
The greatest danger for the E-75 in a direct clash comes from fast tanks. When fighting very strong opposition, "hull down" or "American" tank tactics can be used: hide the hull or even only the lower glacis behind a hill, stones or dead tank and shoot enemies from a distance.
Early Research
- If you unlock the E-75 via the Tiger II, then you'll already have the Maybach HL 234 and 10.5 cm KwK 46 L/68 researched and you can install them immediately.
- The first thing you should research is the upgraded suspension.
- From there the turret is a great next step, and you can take your pick from there.
