The FCM 36 Pak 40 is a French tier 3 premium tank destroyer.
In 1943, ten FCM 36 tanks captured by the Germans were converted into tank destroyers. The vehicles fought in France with the Verstärkte Schnelle Brigade West.
The FCM 36 Pak 40 is a very unique tank destroyer. With thick hull armor, above average hit points, as well as great penetration and rate of fire, it is a very potent and powerful tank destroyer - as long as you don't need to move.

Performance
The FCM 36 Pak 40 (also known as the Marder I) is atypical for a premium tank in that its gun has far superior accuracy, rate of fire and aim time compared to the regular 7,5 cm PaK 40/2 L/46 on the Marder II, making it a very powerful opponent. However, this is severely weighted down with a dismal gun traverse, at approximately 7 degrees. In order to shoot a moving target, you will have to rotate your entire tank, resetting your aim time and giving the tank relative inaccuracy when hitting targets that are traveling at fast speeds. However, when firing upon slow or immobile targets, you can use your penetration and accuracy to your full potential, severely damaging the target in a matter of seconds. Your hull armor is thick and capable of absorbing enemy fire, but the case mate holding the gun is huge and very thin, mitigating your armor advantage. In addition, you have an open top, meaning you are especially prone to HE damage. Most artillery that happens to get a direct shot at your top will one-shot you, especially in tier 5 battles. Lastly, you have extremely low engine power, giving it a horrible speed, with a worse horsepower to weight ratio than even the Maus, the largest tank in the game.
The FCM 36 PaK 40 was the first premium tank destroyer to be added in-game. Curiously, the FCM 36 Pak 40 is listed as a French tank, despite the fact that it was converted and operated by the German 21st Panzer Division in the Invasion of Normandy.
